So who do we suppose is paying for Robinho?

Sinawatra with his frozen bank accounts who is about to sell up or this new group who haven't finalised the buyout yet?

And how will Man City's insurers feel about them spending 30m on a player without him undergoing a medical?
Hopefully the takeover deal falls through and that shitass club has to go into administration.

It's more than that. You lack quality. Especially in defense things aren't looking too great. Add to that the fact Benitez is a retard and it just might be an awful season. I don't see Liverpool getting very far in the CL and they're miles and miles behind the top teams in the EPL.

hmm, well, i'd say we have some damn good central defenders, but our fullbacks/wingbacks etc are not so hot. miles behind, i don't think so, significantly behind manu and chelsea, and arsenal in some ways? definitely

Man U and Chelsea are the top teams and then you've got Arsenal and Liverpool. But if, god forbid, something would happen to either Fernando Torres or Steven Gerrard Liverpool would be a very average team indeed. I rate Tottenham and Manchester City higher TBH.

You've got Carragher and Skrtel. That's not even close to Legrottaglie-Chiellini. Now we've been to Serie B. You guys came close to winning the CL. Where did all that money go?

I wouldn't rate Tottenham higher. Man City lost Corluka and Tottenham already has made some blunders this season.

But Liverpool does look week on the wings that's for certain.

it went to keane and riera. fucking waste

we also have agger, who is top class, as well as Hyppia, who is a decent backup.
chiellini is top class, but legro?! are you nuts?

You really don't know what you're talking about. You can't bring Legro and Chiellini into the same sentence as Skrtel and Carragher. Sure Chiellini is better than Carragher and Skrtel but Legrottaglie is atrocious and so are his backups. So you're center pairing in defense is basically one player.

Well looks like you get to test your theory at least for a game or so. But really Andries how many teams could cope with their two best players being injured? I'm pretty sure if Juve lost Del Piero and Camo for an extended period time, they would have trouble. The same can be said for Milan if they lost Kaka, Arsenal without Fabregas. In fact there are very few teams in the world, other than Madrid and Inter who could cope with such injuries.

@Andy: Our wingers do suck. I don't know that Riera will be much of an improvement. Maybe one day Rafa will buy players that actually play the position he wants them to play.

He did spend half his life at Aston Villa. That's got to count for something.
It counts for something if we were talking about our US team, but for Juventus? I think it's pretty obvious what happened with Mellberg.

Riera is an okay player, shows some spark some matches, but he isn't much of an improvement.

Benitez signs so many players but many of them are pointless purchases in my view, especially the wing players. And then we have some of these other players signed today... who are they?

In the center of the pitch you're fine though. Pretty damn good.
