Yes indeed, that's hurt them too. I was half asleep, so I might have misheard it, but they said on the radio this morning that Walcott is out for a while now too. Arsenal have always had a thin squad - in their unbeaten year they used about 14 players in the league - and injuries tend to hit them harder than the other top clubs. I assume it's a financial thing.
yep walcott is out as well, i dont rate him though i think hes a pile of isht

Arsenal have lost it
the club/players have gone downhill ever since that Carling Cup Final loss

They are consistent nowadays, consistent to losing
lol very true, they r consistantly bad, but why couldnt they be having this bad patch of form this time last year!!!!!!

Watford

If any team were going to concede a goal from 88 yards direct from the oppositions goalkeeper then there was always a good chance that it would be Watford.

Having scraped through into the FA cup semis the previous week (and what a long but rewarding day out that was!) we returned to our disasterous league form at the weekend. With both Charlton and West Ham United winning too we now look like finishing rock bottom and it's probably what we deserve.

Many people have coined us 'unlucky' this season, but poor defending and little impetus in attack isn't down to any sort of luck at all. We're not good enough for this division and you have to hope that we don't let it effect next season too much.

We keep hearing from the management and players that we're learning lessons, but this appears to be the case week in, week out. Have we ever actually learnt one single lesson from this season and then eradicated that from our game?

After throwing away a two goal lead at home to Fulham we were told that we'd leant our lesson, yet Charlton at home showed us we haven't. After deciding some time in September that we weren't doing enough in attack we'd apparently learnt our lesson and promised ourselves that we'd sort that out - we're still waiting.

After failing to effectively mark up from set pieces......you get the story right?

We've gone from being everyone's second team and the plucky underdogs, to plain old rubbish Watford that everyone laughs at. I hate to be too pessimistic, but I can't even see us beating the 24 point total we picked up in 1999-2000 and we had exactly the same problems back then.

The fact that I've spent the past few weeks watching the championship table evolve and wondering who will gain promotions from League One shows you how much belief I've lost in it all.

On the player front I'm still impressed with Gareth Williams as he seems capable of holding the ball up and putting his foot in. Kabba on the other hand has been a terrible signing for the amount of money we paid. £500k hasn't bought us much at all. He comes across as pretty lazy at times and when he does have the ball he does absolutely nothing with it.

I'm not happy at all.

Quotes of the Week:

"For me it is a penalty. Why when Cristiano is involved is it always polemic?"
Cristiano Ronaldo become possibly the first footballer ever to use the word polemic in an interview.

"It's a disgrace. I know Gareth's a friend of Stuart Pearce's and they had Manchester United to face. But it's scandalous and I would love to see them lose their next six games and see how they feel under that sort of pressure. They play West Ham next and Alan Curbishley is another mate of his. He'll probably not bother there, either."

"Quite frankly, I will pick who I want."

"No-one would want to watch the reserve teams of any club - I don't care if they're Real Madrid, Juventus or Fray Bentos!"
Peterborough director of football Barry Fry rubbishes Rafa Bentiez's suggestion that Liverpool reserves should play in the Football League.

"He gave the penalty and then he pointed the other way. It's a disgrace. I don't know what he sent me off for - I wasn't listening - walking on the pitch perhaps?"
Dennis Wise is unimpressed by the performance of referee Nigel Miller after Leeds's 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Southend.
