Yeah, excellent match. There have been some good ones in the FA Cup (inc. ManU vs Boro). I was really hoping Spurs would hold on for the win though

Anyone see Chelsea-Spurs? Very enjoyable. I was a bit disappointed at how Spurs let Chelski back into it though.
But Martin Jol does it all the time, does he not? Always trying to protect a lead. Sometimes i think teams play reputations instead of the opposition in front of them. I know Chelsea battle like champs with never say attitude and a manager who actions are bordering on genius but Tottenham should have been out of sight as they were far the better team but I think they were playing Chelsea the name not chelsea the players. Essien and Drogba were clearly struggling the defence and midfield were a shambles. Sheva and Ballack should not be receiving any salary for their contributions and Spurs allowed them back into the game

When he took off Berbatov and Lennon, Spurs were as good as toothless for the rest of the game - Defoe had some nice moments, but he wasn't able to get the ball enough. I think that was the bigger factor than any issue of mentality. Yes, I think it's a Jol thing.

Mourinho is such a manager!!!

Anyway, about the game, I still don't know why he took off Berbatov and Lennon.... and not to mention putting Mido is like playing with one man down.

That is almost a totally accurate summation of Jol. Good in the first half of matches and almost inept in the second half. And yes I agree that the substituion of Bebartov for Mido was almost conspiratorial to allow Chelsea back into the game, it was just a complete nonsense.Well they are not out of it and can still beat Chelsea as they are playing at home and Chelsea are not playing at all well. They are carrying 2 players in every game in Ballack and Shevchenko, would have been 3 if Diarra had not been discovered as a decent enough right back cos ferreira and geremi are hopeless

Chelsea And Tottenham Hooligans Clash

After an exciting FA Cup match between Chelsea and Tottenham, it was equally exciting on the streets of LondonSeven hooligans ended up in hospital whilst 34 were arrested after the clash between Chelsea and Tottenham fans after the match. The clash happened in front of the White Horse pub in western London, a popular gathering place for Chelsea which they call Sloaney Pony.

The police suspect that the clash was organized before the match by mobile phone or the internet, or more likely that a group of Tottenham fans jumped their rivals in their own yard. In the fight all possible weapons were used, baseball bats, hockey sticks and whatever could be found around the pub. Amongst the injured fans were a 52 year old, a 41 and 40 year old, and a “younger” 31 year old which obviously shows that fans from the English “golden age” of hooliganism participated in the brawl as well.

This is one of the many incidents which happen on the streets of English cities and clearly contradict the stories placed by the media that there is no hooliganism in England. Chelsea’s fans have been named the strongest hooligans in the past, whilst this year many are saying it is the Tottenham fans, which are derogatorily called “yids”.

The police are trying to figure out if this is an organized fight and are questioning a large number of the arrested trying to find out if any famous hooligans participated. The police which arrived at the scene after five minutes continued to monitor the wider area with helicopters for the rest of the day.

There are reports in the English press that Manchester City’s season is being undermined by infighting in the squad.

The club sit down in 17th place in the Premiership, just six points above the relegation zone after a poor run of results.

According to The Daily Mirror, skipper Richard Dunne and team-mate Joey Barton are being blanked by a group led by Georgios Samaras, Bernardo Corradi and Sylvain Distin.
Youngsters Micah Richards, Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuha are apparently caught in the middle.
City face Chelsea on Wednesday evening, and a club source told the Mirror: "You could cut the atmosphere with a knife before the game and it's just the youngsters you feel sorry for because they have been put in a difficult position.

"They don't want to be seen to get involved so they are just trying to keep the peace."
