Martins was doing great with Inter, he already proved himself there Afaik.. it wasn't his fault if things were not going great there with inter.

in the leauge cup they went out to chelsea, in the fa cup they're still in the game.
it's going to be a tough battle for the 5-8th places, everton, tottenham, portsmouth, bolton all have good squads, it's gonna be a feat if newcastle goes over any of them.
ye i think that if newcastle finish in the top half thatl be an acheivement, we cnt just base there performance on one match, besides newcastle didnt look at ease throught the match they wer lucky not to concede a fourth, nevertheless good victory

Does anyone sympathize with Martin O'neil?

Villa made such a fantastic start, and i got the feeling that they might be able to put up a stiff challenge for a CL spot, but the way they've fallen is sad.

i don't sympathise with them at all. assholes, had they won at watford a while back, they draw 0:0, i would have won something like 100euro. :disagree:

Inter should be have sold Recoba IMO, who was on higher wage anyway. But since Moratti has a "man-love" for EL Chino, it wasnt really an option. That really left Inter with a choice of Cruz, Adriano, and Martins. Martins is better than Cruz, but El Jardinero hasnt been Inter's most consistent player for last couple of years, so I see why they took known quality Cruz is over somewhat inconsistent Martins. Adriano, despite his faults, is from different planet to Martins. Selling Adriano to keep Martin is simply a no go.

But IMO, Martins is a player who probably fits into EPL better than Serie A. He is tactically a bit naive - a point frequently mentioned by Mancini. He is not disciplined in his runs, and as a result, he waste too much energy on needless stuff, thus not creating a room for himself where he can be effective. In the end the transfer was good for all parties involved. Martins is going to be score more goals, Newcastle got an excellent striker, and Inter got decent return on what is their youth policy.

Vlatko,

You probably don't have the same hate I have for the Ghanaians.

I bet like 5 Euro on Ghana beating Czech 3-1 or 3-0 (I cant remember), the odd of which was 40/1. And in the last minute some Ghana's MOFO, decided to pass the ball to a guy in a off-side position when he could have easily chosen his spot to score the goal because there was 3 attackers against Petr Ceh. If I had a bullet in that stadium, I would have shot him.:D

my bet with aston villa was also a long shot, i bet like 5 pairs, with 3 draws and two away wins, villa fucked me up. i could have won like 100 euro with my 2 euros staked.

but i have a similar hate to roma, i stopped counting how many times they screwed me over(check this out, i could have been rich with that).

also this weekend i bet 5 euros on the following:
everton-reading x
tottenham-newcastle 2
rennes-marseille 2
sampdoria-fiorentina x
west ham-fullham x
bolton-man city x
aaaand, guess who screwed me over? roma against messina, messina equalising with a penalty in stoppage time. :wallbang: :wallbang: i could have won close to 1000euro if that game roma won. :wallbang: :wallbang: i swear to god i almost killed myself.

; I am guessing Chivu isnt quite your savory dish ATM.:D - That a moment of madness from a Roman Stopper who is calmer than the Buddah most of the time.

I understand your pain man. Hell, when I ever I bet, watching soccer match becomes a pain, especially if you bet on the scores. Sometimes things happen real good and sometimes real bad. I mean, had Totti missed that penalty I would have lost 100 Euros or so in principal, and 50 Euros I got from payout. That is 150 Euros on one kick. Overall though, I am not off with betting (though I did bet 15 sterling pounds on Arsenal beating Liverpool 2-1, the odds was something like 8-1 - Henry is a bastard for sure:D ), since I earned a handsome return on WC thanks to France and Italia.

yeah watching games you bet on is really painful, especially if it's juventus, that gets me on a whole new level of upset.

i usually play for small stakes, and then i take some interesting games and bet a few draws and a few surprises, like newcastle was in my latest attempt, i can't begin to describe how proud i was of that win. :D but it's ALWAYS the smallest odd that screws you over, when look back i don't know why the hell i went with roma, had i not i would have won like 600, 700 euro which is also WOW! oh well... :sigh:

speaking of correct results outcome, when betting houses first started opening here in Zagreb, more than 6,7 years ago, there's one on every corner now, i decided to take a fluke with correct results because the odds were too tempting. anyway i picked two games, i remember it as it was yesterday, real madrid vs zaragoza and udinese vs parma in coppa italia. i wanted to put 5 euros on real beating them 3:1 and udinese beating parma 2:1, but somehow when i got to the bet house i started thinking wtf, there's no way i'm gonna guess those results, it's virtually impossible. so i went with the classical win for real and win for udinese coupled with one other NBA game, don't remember which one anymore, just to boost the final odd. wouldn't you know it, real won 3:1 and udinese won 2:1! but noooo i had to be a chicken shit over 5 freaking euros and guess what? i lost because of the NBA game. :wallbang:

true stories of a miserable gambler, i could go on and on with those stories. never in my life have i ever bet on a correct final result because of that.

Well I gamble a bit on scores to increase my payoffs, AND on a result. But in regards to the Arsenal game, I just had a feeling it was going to be 2-1, dont know why but you know the hunch. Anyway, you are right, in terms of getting scores correct, those drive you nuts. A goal or a miss could potentially make 150-200 Euro differences. So I try not to do it too often.

On NBA, well, I say its not as bad as MLB. Don't ever bet on baseball. The result is like a ping-pong with one swing of the bat, you can loose all. If you think betting on scores is grueling, well baseball will take you to another level.

Anyway, I think I am going to bet 40 sterling pound on ManUre drawing Arsenal. I think it has 1-1 written all over it.:D
