Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez hailed the quality of Luis Garcia after the Spanish forward ended Tottenham's winning streak at White Hart Lane.:nerd:

After strikes against Chelsea in the Champions League run of 2005, Garcia had a reputation of scoring important goals, and he finished from close range against Spurs on the stroke of half-time.

'He is a player of quality, with ups and downs,' said Benitez. 'But he has the quality of changing things.'

Garcia's goal gave Liverpool their third Premiership win away from home and a platform to stay in the top four for the second half of the season, also denting Spurs' hopes of breaking into the top six.:nasty:

Benitez added: 'You can be in the top four one week and it will be different the next. We're not really looking at the table.

'But we knew this one was important because they are close to us and Bolton will be the same (on Monday)'.:shocked2:

Luis Garcia took advantage of defensive hesitation in first-half injury time after Steven Gerrard had dispossessed Didier Zokora and his shot was deflected by Calum Davenport into his team-mate's path.:mute:

After taking the lead before the break, Benitez was forced into a change shortly after the interval when Bellamy was taken off with a tight hamstring.

'It was a precaution' , said Benitez.

I love Khalid "The Butcher" ever since he ripped apart Ronaldo's hamstring and made him cry in this year's WC. Ronaldo is some player to watch, but like many said, he is just about most irritating a**hole you can have.

As a side note on EPL,

I would be surprised if the current bottom three survive in the first division. Blackburn seemed to be most likely team to get sucked in, but they seem to be safe after a string of good results. West-Ham, Charlton, and Watford just simply doesnt have goal getter for the survival. And that means 1 point instead of 3 even if you play well.

I think it is called a sack.;)

But yeah Mourinho will definetely be on a lot of pressure: Roman didnt earn all that millions being a nice guy. One of way or the other, Mourinho will probably be gone, as given his character I think he will jump ship before being fired. He just has too much pride.

i doubt chelsea will lose points today
this is what they needed(man utd not winning) to kick start their winning form

but who am i to judge?
I agree. Chelsea is just too good to loose another point. And on a flip side, Aston Villa has been in a worse form than they have. I see Drogba scoring a last minute again with vastly improved defensive performance by Chelsea.

I just have to be brutally honest with your local team. To be fair, I never even heard of Watford prior to this year, and they seemed to have been rather unlucky in many occasions judging from those highlight shows. But if things are not going well, such can be the case, that they can really go wrong.

Obviously you guys need a striker. Goals, Goals, Goals - will keep you guys in the division.

You know Fli, if Inter do win Serie A this year, with Mourinho leaving Chelsea, hell, it will probably be not as bad as we first thought. Mourinho will defintely coach Serie A team, IMO, and nobody comes bigger than us. If I didnt have a "man-love" for Didier, I will be all over Mourinho's nuts.:D.
