yes indeed as i am sure juve is the only contender in landing the argy, and we definitely need to watch out for the icelandic mafia their constant marauding of suburban reykjavic is resonating across the brine
i never said we were the only contenders, but infact i said it wud be alot easier to get since the option of staying at west ham wud be near impossible.

I don't see any connection betwee West-Ham relegation and Tevez and Mascherano, since they don't even own the players in the first place. The matter of fact is Tevez and Mascherano are going to be sold to the highest bidder, and I sincerely doubt it will be West-Ham, regardless of whether they stay in the Premiership or not. So wanting them to get relegated so that we can snap up these two Argentinians are false reasoning.

On the other hand, I just cant see them surviving this year, not with the forward line-up they got. They have generally struggled for goals, and that means trouble if you are at the bottom half. Only consolation for them is that Blackburn looks equally shabby and Sheff Utd probably doesnt have enough quality to break themselves from the bottom pack.

BTW, I just love Lehmann. He would easily top nutter ratings IMO. I really really do hope that he will never retire. :D

Wenger enjoys Sheva breakdown
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been gloating in former Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko’s slow start to life in the Premiership, claiming Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is to blame for his inability to settle with the London club. “It’s not like buying a machine,” grinned the French tactician. “You can buy a super player and he can be disastrous for three, four, five months. If you buy a super machine, a Ferrari, from the first day it goes well – unless it’s bought by a Russian who buys it and breaks it in two!”

No class!
he's jealous cause arsenal can't afford such a player:disagree:

You guys do realise that Wenger came out in support of Shevchenko?

He was making a point that players aren't machines; just to confirm this is what else he said:

"If Drogba does well it is certainly down to Shevchenko as well.

"Drogba was always a great player but even more since he played with Shevchenko. He has more support, more deflections. He gets more deflected balls and someone makes the runs for him and he takes advantage of that."

That's how I read it too. People's quotes are generally manipulated no end by the media.

For example, imagine you're Fabregas, and you're talking to a reporter. He asks you whether you think Arsenal can still catch the leaders. You want to be positive, so you say something about there being many months left in the season, and that the team's been playing well recently, and that you hope to give Man Utd and Chelsea a run yet. Nothing bad there, right?

Next day, back page of some piece of shit paper, something like this: http://www.itv.com/news/index_d1c039319eccc9b707852a9889098cbc.html

All spin, my friends.

The tagline for that one on skysports is already something like: "Terry says ManU's challenge has peaked!"

Ridiculous.

:rofl2:

Cracks me up big time.

As annoying as Henry is, he is one smart ass. I just love that Cesc interview. They have put that all time classic.:D .

Journalists play their part as well, but some players throw in a bit more bones to haggle than others.

On Sheva though, I just don't get what Abrahomivic has anything to do with his recent run of form. I feel it is more of Wenger having his gripes with Chelski money power than anything else. I bet he would like to have some of that pocket money in his hand to spend.

What a match indeed, and what magnificent goals from Chelsea. All 3 in the second half, all 3 sweetly struck from way outside the area.
