If someone could just get them defending right (probably by buying a new defense - they've a great keeper in Given), weed out the injury prone players and balance the side (they've nearly no strikers!), they could be pushing for fourth in no time.
Arsenal is a bunch of divers and have one of the worst looser in their manager. I know Arsene Wenger long enough. He is one rational, cold bastard, (as a complement) but the man has no decency at all. I love it when Mourinho plays it into Arsene's arse on purpose, and as flexible as rubber and stiff as a stick Wenger can't take it and looses his temper.
I never seen more overrated team than Arsenal in my life. Yes they play neat stylish game and those passes doesnt mean jack sH!t if you cant bury the ball back in the net. I have seen quite a few matches this season (I don't normally follow EPL but I am in England right now), and you are screaming for one of their midfielders to shoot. And yeah they dive when there are bodies flooding in opposition box.
Henry thinks Arsenal is a big team now that they have made it past the quarters for the first time. Get real. Porto, Monaco have more success than that.

Yeah it was good for the title race. But I agree with Quierez (?) on the title race. EPL is too good now to be decided upon one game.
It really was a game of two halves. Man U's forward absolutely Chelsea down the flanks in the first half, then Mourinho makes an adjustment and we see Chelsea being superior force in the second. Saha's obviously on fire though. He couldnt help scoring on both side of the game.

I think Man U will be good enough to last the race this year. The difference with last year lies in midfield. Against Chelsea last year I think they fielded Park Ji-Sung, Fletcher, Giggs and got absolutely hammered by Essien & Makelele. Scholes, Carrick, Ronaldo, Giggs are far better in every respect. Also they seems to have found a partner for Rio. Vidic is far sounder Mikael "walking disaster" Silvestre.

personally i think it would be required to buy much more than just a new defense, i'm mainly thinking about the attack as well. with shearer(god, how i miss that man) retired, owen injured for a decade, ameobi out for a while as well, they have to rely on the most overrated striker ever, obafemi martins. also alberto luque, god knows what's with him.
one thing puzzled me the most tbh, why did they sell jenas? so nolberto solano can play? i would have rather sold dyer, scored a good goal against arsenal though, than him. i like that n'zogbia also, he could do really well in the long run.
anyway they have some good players, and have a lot of things you implied going for them(mainly money and fans), but they really need a good manager to get them going. someone with great authority and even greater discipline. i wouldn't mind seeing shearer in that position one day.

I am not a fan of N'Zogbia. He runs like headless chicken, and his precision is well Montero-esque at best. Technically very raw, and apart from enthusiams I don't see him being a good player.

A chairman with a record of signing Luque, Owen, Boumsong, Duff, Emre, Martins for an amount they have - well I pity the fans. If Moggi was doing that he would have been fired next day. Of course, chairman can't fire himself (Signora Moratti too), unluckily for the Newcastle fans, their chairman isnt as rich as Moratti to throw more money at the problem.

I am not a fan of N'zogbia but yeah he is 19/20 after all, and he didnt cost Newcastle 15m sterling pounds as his fellow teammates. In this alone, he is better than almost all of Newcastle's recent signings.
I definetely agree with you them being Inter of EPL in terms of management (or lack of), hard-core fans, etc, but without the history and money.
