Passes back to the keeper or center half seem to be made only in panicky desperation and not deployed as a tactic. It must be seen as an act of cowardice or something to control and play the ball in relative safety at the back. At least that's the impression I got watching those games this morning.

Italian football values possession not only as means of defense, but to manipulate the opposition, to move them around with a string of patient passes and get them to lose their shape. It's about waiting for the right moment to make a move and that's what I find (among other things) so fascinating about Calcio. It usually takes something tactically and/or technically special to score.

Not the most succinct explanation but that, in a nutshell, is what I hate about English football.

It's definitely not for everyone, because I live in Ireland EPL games are everywhere and all my friends watch the EPL. I am the opposite to you guys i suppose. I struggle to watch Serie A games and they just dont interest me because I love the intensity of the EPL.

When both teams are creating chances and bombarding forward it's really fun to watch in my opinion. I really only watch Juve games in Serie A.

Did you watch Man U vs liverpool? No chances at all. The ball was just bouncing in the middle and players run after it. I seriously can't remember a good game between the top teams in the EPL.

Man United are just terrible to watch I haven't watched a game all season.

I used to like watching English football but for me it has progressively got worse the last few years, it's really frustrating to watch players just get the ball forward. Maybe the level of competitiveness contributes to that, all the teams have money and expensive players so they all fancy their chances. They're just not as good as they think they are.

I mean, I expect we may well struggle faced with that kind of onslaught every week as well, but also the majority of those <4th placed teams would get picked off playing like that in Serie A.

It's the lack of control, so few teams have it. That's what I judge teams on, how they control and manage games. When you're not in control you can lose at any moment, it's what frustrates me if Juve don't have it.

Any team who lose 4-5 at home should be thoroughly embarrassed, especially if it's to a team like this current Liverpool. It's pathetic. You score 4 at home you win, not this nonsense. I wonder if the people at Norwich even view it this way.
