Defenitely the problem is the player/agent part of the equation (though Liverpool management has a responsibility in letting the contract negiotions be mishandled til it got to this point), but what I mean with behind close doors is not just putting gag order on them, you cant. But be alot more firm and discplinary, set the boundaries, before he/they think its acceptable to act this outlandish. Or try to solve this mess before it became this much of an embarrassment. This kid and the agent are making a fuss without actually outright saying he will leave for sure, which is extra funny in itself. Clowning out and think they can take the club for a ride. Havent even handed out a transfer request, call their bluff, see if they do it, and if they do, do it in your own terms and only for what you see is big enough sum. At this rate City (who just bought Delph) who are desperate for any and every enghlish talent due to CL rules, and which you should be able to demand whatever you want almost due to that, are being handed all the cards when it comes to what fees they can give to get him due to this current mess. If it comes to it, IMO it could be useful to just take the strong no nonsense posiition with this kid and force him to stay. He might moan and sulk few a while, freeze himself out, but eventually has to play or its bad for his career. Its worse sitaution due to expiring contract, but money aside, might be worth to take a stand with this kind of BS.

Btw, have you read this article? (total clickbait whoring lol) Quite funny/silly stuff (agreed regarding Henderson in this, but the solution to Sterling is just a laugh): http://www.theguardian.com/football...pool-raheem-sterling-jordan-henderson-captain

I did not know Guardian hired internet trolls as journalists :D
Yeah, most of the blame should be directed at Sterling and his amateur agent who doesn't master the art of negotiation. Liverpool is probably the club I hate most in the EPL, never liked them, but what Sterling did was a total disgrace. Him thinking he is bigger than the club. He's 20 and hasn't proven shit ffs. I could understand if it was Ibra, Ronaldo, and to a certain extent, Rooney, as they are players who are instrumetal gave a lot to their respective clubs. But this little knobhead, who just had ONE good season thinks he's the next Messi. I say bench the bastard and let him rot.

You're not very caught up on the situation. The things you mentioned aren't really things clubs can control. Ask Tottenham and Gareth Bale. Truth be told, the club offered 90 or 100k a week and he wants 150k. Club said no. Kid says I want to go to City, Liverpool say well okay if they offer 50 million. City offers 25, no deal. City offers 30, no deal. So there we sit. Nothing amateurish about that. Other than Sterling and his agent.

The crazy thing, we could stick him on the reserve squad for the next 2 years and still get paid. Sterling will be under 24 when his contract expires and any team than takes him on a free will have to pay a fee. Thanks to Man City, it would probably be more than usual.

The Bayern Munich chief has lamented how the English league is ahead in terms of transfer activity, television money and successful marketing

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has urged the Bundesliga to step up if they are to avoid falling further behind the Premier League financially.

The English top flight sold the domestic television rights to matches for a record £5.136 billion in February for three seasons from 2016-17 - a 71 per cent increase on the previous deal in 2012.

Contrastingly, the Bundesliga receives an estimated £437 million per season for rights to air games within Germany, leaving the Premier League around four times better off.

Rummenigge lamented how Germany is being beaten by English opposition and is worried that the Bavarians and their domestic rivals will be stripped bare by Chelsea, Manchester United and their Premier League competitors.

"The Bundesliga has to finally act," he told Bild. "The English are overtaking us left, right and centre.

"When taking into account transfer market activity, in marketing terms, in TV money – anywhere, really. The Bundesliga has to be careful not to fall further behind, I think.

"Anyone who follows the transfer market at the moment, within which English clubs work, knows their clubs are being fully upgraded. The Bundesliga has to be careful that we're not emptied out."

Rummenigge was speaking at the start of Bayern's trip to China – which sees Pep Guardiola's men play three money-spinning matches in nine days – and he says such pre-season tours are a necessity in the modern footballing climate.

"We have to make these trips for economic reasons," he added. "These are not leisure trips, let's be realistic here.

But it's always better to have money than not have it at all. And they are improving . These tv deals are the reasons why its better for us to sell players to EPL clubs .

For example if Marrone and De Ceglie was playing for Arsenal, and they decide to sell them to Crystal Palace you can see they fetch about 10 million minimum there. But in Serie A, no body wants to pay because there isn't money and even if they did it would be just 3 million maximum.

Despite securing direct qualification for the Champions League, tying down most of their best young stars to new deals and getting ready to move into a stunning new stadium, Olympique Lyonnais are still enduring frustration in getting their transfer targets over the line.

"We have means, but the English market is blocking a lot of things," says coach Hubert Fournier.

He had a potential deal on his mind, which had gone up in smoke. 21-year-old defender Jordan Amavi, whose move from Nice to Aston Villa was officially confirmed Monday, was a principal target for Lyon. He wanted to go there, too, which was why he rejected Villa's initial approach.

Yet the Birmingham side just blew Lyon out of the water with money and agreed a deal for a basic fee of €13 million. The Ligue 1 runners-up had been prepared to pay barely half that and, having initially counted on keeping their man, Nice couldn't believe their luck.

"You always have stupid fans on a football pitch. The same thing happened to me when I left Arsenal"
Nasri.

What a cunt, I'm glad it didn't work for him at City and he doesn't get called up to the NT anymore. Even Deschamps knows what a cunt he is.

Poor lyon, having a 60,000 stadium built with public money.

Everton have 2 megastores: Everton One and Everton Two. Everton Two is in the Liverpool One shopping centre, so the official address is "Everton Two, Liverpool One". @Pablo
