They don't get away with it. They are convicted. They just serve less jail time than he would. I think the general public forgets just how hard jail is. 4 years in jail over this is ridiculous.

Regarding the punishment, you addressed in another post, not saying it should be severe as the hyperbole suggest, but that he defenitely deserves to be punished still.
