I mean I think it's fair to say that he's been the best player this season in the PL, mostly because there's so much more to his game than assists and goals and he's been extremely consistent, but he's not by any means carrying Chelsea to the title. Fabregas, Costa, Terry, Cahill and others had an excellent season as well.

Yeah, but this guy is massively overrated by pundits who like to sound smart by pointing out how good obscure player A or B is. Even if Matic is a decent player, Fabregas and Hazard are a lot more important.

Yes. But to do that job, you have to be pretty damn good. All the time. And Hazard has not only been outstanding, he has also been consistent the way we've only seen Ronaldo and Messi be consistent. He's miles ahead of Sanchez IMO.

Really? Sanchez? That's just silly. Even if he was absolutely on fire in the beginning of the season he has long periods in which he struggles and at Barcelona he was nothing special. Hazard on the other hand has been a driving force for every team he has played for and has never faded for two games in a row.

I think you're underrating sanchez a bit especially this season. But ya i dont think theres any doubt that Hazard has been better this season, and I'm an Arsenal fan.

Not sure if I underrate him as such. When he's in form, he's incredible. But he has large spells when he's nothign special IMO.

Maybe with Barcelona, but certainly not with us this season. I agree with the general gist of your post though, Hazard has definitely been the most consistent and decisive player in the league this season, he's one of the main reasons Chelsea are where they are in the league.

Hazard is more then just goals and assists, he is the guy that brakes the defence, if not with the assist or the goal, then with a great action or a great pass.

Don't add his goals from other competitions to inflate them. In the league he has 12 goals (3 are penalties) and 7 assists. Thats a small output from a player being compared to Ronaldo and Messi. Because I assure you, Chelsea fans are going to vote him as their player of the year, and there is an extremely high possibility, that his fellow players will vote for him to be the PFA player of the year. Look, it's very simple, if you actually watched some Chelsea matches this season, you'd easily see how he's been decisive for them time and time again. A prime example, was our match against them at the Bridge at the start of the season, to an outsider who didn't watch the game, they'd only see Hazard had scored a penalty, and thought nothing of it. To someone who did watch the game, he'd tell you that the game was a stalemate, until Hazard picked the ball up in midfield, turned 3 Arsenal players inside out, and got a penalty out of nothing, game won for Chelsea.

That kind of scenario has happened so many times this season, where Hazard breaks the deadlock with a moment of magic. It is why those of us who watch the EPL are all adamant that he's been outstanding this season, and its also why he will most probably be recognized by his peers as the best in the league this season, and he most definitely will be voted as Chelsea's player of the season by the fans. I just hope when all that happens, you let go of your pride, and don't turn this into a classic escalation of commitment thing like Alen has.

I am not saying he playing bad. He is doing very good. I am only saying he is no Arjen Robben and is barely doing better than Sanchez and others all of which aren't as good as Robben.

He is not standing out though he might be doing better than others. Standing out is too strong of a term for my taste to describe the distance between him and sanchez. Suarez's form last season... THATs standing out. Hazard this season is nothing close to Suarez from last season.
