The fact he didn't move doesn't necessarily mean he's loyal. If I were Totti, I wouldn't want to move away from Roma neither when I'm considered a king there and can do basically what I want like him.
Well his personality has been his downfall some what, but that doesn't mean to say he isn't an exceptional footballer. Totti at his peak would have taken him places, not so much with Di Natale

What's really worth :sergio: is claiming that Totti is glorified version of Di Natale. Nonsensical.
That's exactly what he is. Slightly better version than Di Natale. And if you think he's not overrated, you're insane. We're going to have to hear for the rest of time now, because of retards who overrate Totti to a ridiculous extent, how he's one of the best Italian and Serie A players of all time. When he did dick all aside from scoring meaningless league goals for Roma when they weren't going to win anything anyways. Look at his goal-scoring record for the National team and in the Champion's League.

judging totti for his goals in the champions league is rather unfair don't you think? That's like saying that Tevez is a glorified version of Ortega

Nah, that's retarded to claim.

He was attacking mid/TQ for most of his prime that had to provide for his team mates. His passing, vision and technique makes him trully exceptional player, certainly offered performances of higher quality during the years than Di Natale. The latter shouldn't really be mentioned in the same line with Totti, regardless of your affiliation.

Let's talk about Totti's performance against a strong team like Juventus then.

35 appearances against Juve, 9 goals and 3 assists total. That's pathetic.

The season Roma won the league, 00-01 Totti was decidedly mediocre. 30 appearances. 13 goals and 1 assist. He wasn't even close to being there best player that year. Batistuta scored 20 goals in 28 matches. Totti wasn't even providing assists. That season showed exactly what Totti would have been if he went to a big club. A small part, that's it.

:agree:

Although I'd probably place Henry above Del Piero, and then Del Piero above Totti, although I think if Del Piero doesn't have that injury of his, he would have been at an entirely different level from even Henry. That 1997/98 season he had was by far better than anything Henry or Totti ever had.
:agree: he was Messi level in those days. That injury stopped him from being considered one of the best ever.

13 goals in 30 matches, while playing behind Montella and Batistuta, was fantastic feat, especially considering the quality of Serie A back then.

That's really the only aspect of Totti that was better than other players.

But ultimately for me Henry> Totti, Henry had done it all. He wasn't gifted like Totti, but he was a hard worker, bless with an amazing physique and extremely intelligent. Totti was a genius that never reached his full potential and that's that. Henry has something concrete, totti is just a bunch of could'ves

1 assist was really fantastic too, with Batistuta and Montella to pass to.
3 assists actually, but that's beside the point. That season was far from mediocre for him, considering the number of goals and his overall presence on the pitch, often dragging his side throughout the game.

But that passing of Totti's is soooooooo goooooodddd!!! :sergio:

Are you serious with this? Weird how you utterly blinded yourself to being remotely objective about him. One of the best passers ever in the game probably, and you are questioning if his passing is even good?

Modern game simply doesnt produce generational kind of players like him anymore who are all about technique and vision (despite his scoring records, the two former is his masterful strenghts).
