New season, same old problems for Arsenal.

Wenger has run out of excuses, he had the money but did not address our most glaring weaknesses.

Obviously not many managers could have kept us in the top four with the kind of budget Wenger was working with during the years after we moved to the Emirates stadium, but now that we have the money, I think Wenger should be held accountable if we keep on making the same mistakes every year. It was obvious to everyone and their mothers that we didn't defend well as a unit, that we didn't have any ball winning midfielder, and that we conceded too many goals on set pieces. We're going to get run over by the big teams again, because we still have the same fucking problems.

Ozil needs to get his act together, for someone with his talent, I don't understand how he can be so shit.

Sanchez is amazing, such a hard worker, and can come up with goals like the one he scored yesterday.

Ramsey has had a slow start to the season, he was average yet again yesterday.

Wilshere was amazing, our best attacking player without a doubt in yesterdays game. Welbeck had a promising debut, his movement was good and he hassled the city defense all game long. Koscielny was a rock in defense, he and Debuchy were the only ones who defended well yesterday.

Monreal, Mertesacker and Flamini were mediocre yesterday imo.

Özil in my opinion greatly suffers from the 4-1-4-1 formation Wnger employs, which in turn has its reason in Arsenal not having any DM besides Flamini.

The 4-1-4-1 does protect the DM from getting isolated, but the thing is even when we have bodies in midfield, teams still manage to play through us, we just don't press enough imo. The problem isn't having bodies there, the problem is that we don't defend as a unit, and we don't press teams enough. Ozil isn't suited to playing on the wing, I understand that, but that is no excuse to how he loses the ball so easily, which right now is my biggest qualm with him. Also, last season he played in his favored #10 role, and its not like he was any better.
