everyone said the same thing about arsenal last year, how they are doomed, how they wont qualify for CL, etc. emotions are obviously high, but they spend the least amongst top 6-7 EPL teams and still come out with better results relative to talent level on the roster. I do agree, Wenger is very stubborn and their season ticket holders, who have the priciest tickets have every right to be pissed because management were beaming on how they're going to use 80mil to improve the club. Guess what, no suarez, no rooney, no cavani, no falcao, etc. As usual, they'll sign some journeyman french player (Gorcuff anyone?) and let it slide, but they'll still finish top 5 IMO.
