Watch Matuidi play with PSG or with France before these last Euro's where Deschamps murdered the potential of the midfield with his tactics - look at Pogba and how poorly he played.

Simply put, Matuidi has a presence that can be felt in the middle of the park. I'm sure as a Juve fan you've watched those matches when Marchisio has gone invisible for an entire half or an entire game. That is simply not the case with Matuidi. He has the energy, the pace, the dribbling capacity, even the flair to turn a quick counter attack into a goalscoring opportunity. This cannot be said of Pogba, as I'm sure you've also witnessed him slow down our counter attack's last year with his stutter style dribbling and movement only to make a decent pass or end up losing the ball.

Matuidi will fit and he'll really bring this team together in a way few would have expected. We'll be much more fluid with him and I'd put him in our starting eleven as much as I'd put Marchisio or Khedira in the team.
Good Post!
I agree about the Deschamps thing as well he did manage to get them into the final but the tactic was horrible for expressing the team talent! Pogba is probably the best in his role yet he didnt really do anything!
Marchisio is a bit overrated on this forum even if he is a very good player while Khedira seems a bit underrated to me!

BTW Considering we get Matuidi how will you play 3-5-2 and how the diamond one?

It will have to be rotation and considering the amount of injuries under Allegri and the frailties of our guys I think Pjanic will probably end up with the most minutes this season.

3-5-2:

------------------------Buffon--------------------------
----------Barzagli-----Bonucci-----Chiellini-----------
Alves-------------------------------------------Sandro
-------------------Pjanic / Marchisio------------------
-----Marchisio / Khedira------------Asa / Matuidi----
--------------Dybala------------------Higuain---------

4-3-1-2:

------------------------Buffon-------------------------
Lichtensteiner---Bonucci--------Chiellini--------Evra
-------------------Pjanic / Marchisio------------------
-----Lemina / Khedira------------Asa / Matuidi------
-----------------------Pjanic/Pjaca--------------------
--------------Dybala------------------Higuain---------

Marchisio is not overrated in fact he will be a bigger loss for us than pogba. In saying that matuidi would be a good addition. Adding bastian on a very low transfer and not so high salary would certianly help consiering we have an injured marchisio and injury prone asamoah and Khedira.

Come on - He is a great player but he isnt that great!
As for Bastian No for a minor cost No for a free transfer No for a free transfer with no wages to be paid simply put NO! Pjanic Khedira Marchisio Lemina Asamoah Sturarro Marrone kid cheering in the crowd I prefer all of them over playing this overcooked grandpa

Asamoah is not injury prone. Khedira is. Asamoah had one very severe injury which dragged on for ages but that's history now. If anyone else is injury prone, it's Marchisio. He's had multiple lay-offs for various reasons.

Considering everyone is healthy and we are in the final against Barcelona 3-5-2 and the diamond formation - Pjanic is a definite starter who would you partner him between Marchisio Asamoah Khedira and Matuidi?

I kind of agree with Adrian. Marchisio always has been more important than Pogba since he replaced Pirlo.

At that point you'd have to base it on form. If I were to base it on today's form I would probably pick Asamoah and Khedira over Matuidi and Marchisio. The idea isn't about who will be your go to midfield but which midfield will be ripe for the moment and the opposition.

Signing Matuidi will definitely signal that we are going to aim for a 4-3-1-2, at least in the Champions League. I can see Allegri switching to that in game as he did in our successful run up to the final during matches with Barzagli out - Pjaca in. Or possibly Barzagli out - Marchisio in to regista to push Pjanic to trequartista.

Makes zero sense.

Marchisio when fit is a definite starter and so is Khedira. Not much need to speculate about who would start.

 Without a doubt.

Pirlo was our best player for 2-3 years and Marchisio made us completely forget him. Can't think of any period of time when we missed Pirlo after he left/deteriorated and that speaks volumes of Marchisio.

I like every tho about this possible end of Mercato but I don't like the idea of only three real strikers. I do believe though, that we will use 433 more than ever did

Fack Mino and his clients. Is it the main reason we want Matuidi , cause he is unlikely to ask for a move later on?

Get another younger midfielder. Someone with a future,a guy that would benefit from getting a lot of Seria A experience and help us in the long run. If we can't manage Seria A and CL groups with our team minus Marchisio we weren't going to win CL anyway. Matuidi would not be the difference in CL knock-outs.

I totally agree Marchisio is a wonderful player, especially in the regista role but he hasn't been an impact player in the middle which is also totally fine considering we have other people to do that. He also has the grinta, the class and the history of juve on his side...I am sure he'll be a starter in any final but based on form and characteristics for a final, I myself would think it would be a tough decision on who to start and who to bench...including Marchisio...especially if Pjanic takes his regista role.

In other news I'll be heading to Monte Carlo in a bit...do you guys think Nedved and Marotta are already there considering the Champions League Draw is tomorrow?

If so...maybe I can go pester them for some info on transfers and get a signed shirt from Neddy?

You can put the schweinsteiger rumours at rest. He just said that Union will be his last club in europe and will be ready when the team needs him. :pepedinho:

Of course it does! He is a great player but he is not as great as Pogba! He isnt at his level!
Not even close! Pirlo was amazing for us except for the last year when he has declined a bit (although he was still vey good)
Marchisio had one very good year in which we got to the final and it was the same year Pirlo declined!
Marchisio of the past year isnt comparable to Pirlo - You are very biased! Marchisio is a good player he is even a very good player but he just isnt Pirlo or Pogba good!
