I think you're indeed missing a quality b2b MF, the problem is there doesn't seem to be many in the market. The likes of Kante, Koke or even Arda would be great buys, but don't think they are on the market.

Higuaín may go the Robben route and ditch the flopper label, but still I dont think he's good value for the money at his age and with his record.

Don't know anything about Pjaca and frankly don't rate Pjanic as WC.

All that being said, Juve is a team known to be better than the sum of its parts so I expect a strong Juve this year as always. Hopefully we can meet in the final

PD: our clash last season was a heart-stopper and an emotional rollercoaster.

Also what you forgot to mention is what else they have got! - Xabi Alonso who is still great! Coman who is a great young talent! Ribery who isnt a CM but is a midfielder (dont know how good he is now but he is still alive so we should mention him) Robben might be a winger so I dont know if you want to count him in or not.. Douglas Costa - You forgot him but I still remember how he troubled our defense over and over! If theres a player I`d take from Bayern its him! he is simply WC

As for transfer wise - It all depends on the formation - if we keep the 3-5-2 a box to box should be the priority now - He should be great attacking wise while he should also know to defend!
If we change formation then 1 attacking gem and 1 physical player!
BTW the attacking gem might not be needed for purchase as Pjaca might be it but its too soon to tell!

As far as potential goes you might be right about sanches > Khedira... but as of now this is just ridicolous. And since we are talking about right now, Juve > Bayern. It's funny how underrated Khedira is around here. He is actually on par with Marchisio if not better when fit.

Agreed. Khedira is certainly better than Sanches right now. Potential wise of course Sanches is higher.

And Vidal vs. Marchisio. Depends on the role. Marchisio is probably better in the CDM role, which Vidal is better as a box to box.

He is not worth the money but he is the best attacker we could buy and immediately makes our attack one of the best.

IMO B2B isn't a problem. We have Asamoah, Sturaro, Khedira, Lemina who can all play beside Pjanic. Asamoah and Khedira when healthy are both very good players. The issue is the role in front of the defense. Kante would have been great. The two holes IMO are a trequartista and a Defensive midfielder.

The problem is that out of our 7 midfielders, one should not be counted on because he's $#@! (Hernanes), 2 are made of glass (Khedira and Asamoah) and other 3 are currently injured/just came out of serious injuries (Marchisio, Sturaro, Lemina). Only Pjanic has a decent injury history - and even him is physically fragile and often suffers with minor injuries from tackles.

WC level is Marchisio as a DM (not as a box to box) and Pjanic (as a creative CM, not a regista). Khedira is good but I don't think he's WC, even when he's healthy. Even Marchisio's quality as a DM is in check for me, because he relies a lot on his stamina and agility. Has to see if $#@!ing a tendom won't compromise that. Lemina has great potential, but is still a bet, and Sturaro is only in the squad because of his nationality.

So to me, the situation in the midfield is quite worrisome. Pogba was not only our best midfielder, but our healthiest midfielder.

If we can't find a WC box-to-box or a WC potential youngster, I'd rather we just stay put. Dont spend high values on a guy like Matuidi, who is expensive and will only decline, while not offering anything much better than we've got, excecpt for experience. Witsel is like a poor man's Khedira, we don't need his characteristics.

But I'm preparing myself for the likely letdown of signing one of them. It would be disappointing. I'm hoping Marotta will go for more than that, whether a better player or, if it's not possible, a player with more potential.

The midfield situation is a concern only if we fail to land an Internaional class midfielder who has Pogba like characteristics... i.e. is prepared to to the hard defensive work, tracking back all through the match, the capability to distribute the ball wisely with a high % pass success rate, and thread passes through the centre to find Higgy, Incredybala and Mandy in space for them to score a pile of goals.

The situation is not 100% finished yet and if we can get the Cuadrado situ. sorted today or tomorrow, Beppe and co have about 5/6 working days to dive in a land the big fish.

I'm confident the midfield player we sign will be someone who fulfils this criteria.

What you lack is the aggressive pressing + attacking contribution that Pogba and Vidal provided. Hence a b2b is what I think you need, a class one.

We are talking about now, potential doesn't factor into this. Khedira is always underrated here but is comfortably better than Renato. If your talking about who you would rather buy then it's Sanches because of his potential but that's not what I'm saying.
And yes, I don't rate Renato highly, having seen him in the Euros he didn't impress me. All physicality and lacking ability, but yes he may be a good player eventually but I haven't seen anything to suggest he will be WC in my opinion.

Pogba isn't really a pressing player, he will get back to defend eventually but only pressures you when you are right next to him or if he looses possession.

Whereas Vidal presses you of the pitch then hacks your legs off.

Khedira played as a B2B for is last season and was fantastic when heathy. One of the most intelligent players I have watched. One of the most underrated players in football.

I definitely agree about the B2B being the need though. I've always preferred that two B2B setup more.

Pjanic is a world class CM though, disagree with you there. Inconsistent, but definitely one of the most creative CMs out there. And also seems to have the characteristics to be a very classy regista/Deep-lying playmaker if Allegri decides to use him there at least in Marchisio's absence.

All our midfield is lacking is an athletic, high workrate B2B. This could be Lemina or Asamoah, but one is unproven as of yet, and the other hasn't played the position in years. Would be nice to get one more established to round out the midfield.

Even if he has great potential, only a retard would suggest that Renato is currently better than Khedira. One of the most laughable things I have read lately.
