We are definitely able to sign James. The question is at what price and whether or not we should be willing to pay it. This guy has played one fantastic tournament two years ago but otherwise has really only shown glimpses of potential and from someone who is now 25 I'd expect more.
He has disappointed past season but he was great first season with Real.

And everyone knows his quality, he is super star potential player, so he will have Big bids on him, the kind we already did and I can't see us doing again.

That's crystal clear... With our current MF our chances to win UCL drops a lot and all our hope would be on how fit Cheesio and Khedira could be and if Lemina manage to grow a lot... None of Asa, Hernanes, Pereyra and Sturaro have enough level for UCL

Conte : "Fabregas will stay at Chelsea."

suprise suprise :applause:
Didn't u? We are expecting Conte let us get some of their players only cuz we sold Pog or what?

I don't believe it. This is typical EPL tabloid ****.

There is no way Conte goes with a 4-2-4 with Hazard & James. There is not enough defensive work there. They are about to spill 50 on Koulibaly. I don't see them getting James.

(part of me is saying that because I want him)

I'm not sure he will use 4-2-4. with his current squad 4-2-3-1 more sensible.

Costa
Hazard - James - Willian
Matic - Kante

Except you know, we also got Pjanic, Pjaca and Alves.
I'm sorry but that is somewhat of a major downgrade from just 2 years ago or even last year.
Give me Pirlo, Vidal, Pogba, Cuadrado, Tevez and a healthy Marchisio over Pjanic, Pjaca and Alves any day of the week.

Ok don't even count Marchisio and Cuadrado... let's just do 3 x 3.... You rather have Pogba, Tevez, and Vidal or Pjanic, Pjaca and Alves ??

You've made a comparison to support your own agenda. The right comparison is Tevez, Pogba and Vidal vs Dybala, Khedira and Pjanic the former is sligthly better but the difference is marginal.

Khedira and Marchisio are made of glass and we'll play just a handful of games with both of them fit next season, you don't have to be a psychic to figure that one out. At least one starting level midfielder must be signed, not just a back-up player for rotation.
Not true at all.

you have a point... ok but still if you look at our midfield from 2 years ago when we went to the CL final, you can say that it was arguably the best in the world. We've since downgraded that area pretty drastically, especially when you take into consideration Marchisio's injury.

I also disagree that Tevez, Pogba and Vidal is sligthly better than Dybala, Khedira and Pjanic. I don't think the difference is marginal at all, but rather staggering in quality, dependability and "grinta", especially for CL play, where it matters most.

As much as I'd love it. There's no way we get James or a big name signing.

We have random holes to plug. Probably end up with the journeymen of the league.

Not true at all.
Last season:

Cruciate Ligament Rupture 182 days
Calf strain: 17 days
Muscle fatigue: 7 days
Tear in the abductor muscle: 21 days
Stress response of the bone: 21 days

So yes, it's true. These injuries also spanned over our most crucial games of the season, and we had to play like 20-25 games without him.

Yeah our midfield is a question mark at this point compared to the one we had couple of years ago. We need to remember that Conte and Allegri are very different coaches and this season the team will be completely made for Allegri so we might see a change in style to a more possession based football. This means that it's better to rate these players after the season rather than before it even starts.
