We broke the bank for Higuain and the press is linking to every available player :lol2: I know almost all the rumours linking us to Isco or James or likewise WC players are bull$#@! since we already spend the pogba money (higuain) and coman (benatia) zaza (gilardino or matri or Pjaca), im just glad at least we are linked to WC players unlike the last few years.
we totally overpaid for Higuain, especially because we sold Pogba which made it a lateral move on the field. We strengthened our attack, but weakened our mid-field, so are we really better than we were last year as far as being a top contender in the Champions League ? I would say NO. We most likely will win another scudetto, maybe another coppa Italia, but in Europe I fear it will be a struggle, especially in the mid-field with Marchisio still not fit to return.

Witsel and Cuadrado will come. Zenit wont risk losing him for free next year, so they will lower their demands and we will get him for max 20m.

Im confident that Cuadrado will come too, too many signs for that to happen. Beppe said we will try to keep him, we didnt put a goodbye video when he went back, his twitter account etc.

People doubting we can sign James.

After Pjanic and Higuain everything is possible.
Nah no one else was bidding that crazy for Higuain and we have Italy locked down, Pjanic was release clause.

James will have alot of suitors and we don't have the financials to make a record level bid.

Except you know, we also got Pjanic, Pjaca and Alves.

We are definitely able to sign James. The question is at what price and whether or not we should be willing to pay it. This guy has played one fantastic tournament two years ago but otherwise has really only shown glimpses of potential and from someone who is now 25 I'd expect more.

$#@! Yaya, give me Cesc or Eriksen or Kovacic
Eriksen's style would be ideal for this Juve.

The problem surely is that:-

1) Tottenham would be unwilling to let him go this late in the window, and ....

2) The fee - if they were willing to listen to an offer - would be particularly eye watering. At this stage in the EPL window with just 2 weeks left, a 10-20% surcharge would inflate his fee further and Juve - now in cheesepairing mode -would turn away from a €40m+ type figure.

Yaya Toure is now generally considered by most City fans as someone who peaked 2 seasons ago. He still has plenty of admirers in Manchester but that number is decreasing by the month.

Scouts in South America, as well as football journalists, have mentioned amongst others, Jefferson OREJUELA, the tall, Ecuadorian central midfielder who has been an essential part of the Independiente success story. Aged 23, he has been knitting the team together with his athleticism, sensible passing and always willing to take on responsibility. The reward is the captaincy he was given last year.

I reckon this guy will become the centre of transfer activity from Europe in the next few months.

Why do I keep reading comments implying that Marchisio will be out for basically the entire season, we are going to struggle in the CL without him, and what not?

Didn't Allegri say that Marchisio will be back in October just a week or so ago? We'll have played 2 or 3 group stage games by that point. I'm pretty sure this team can survive that. He missed the first 2 Champion's League matches this past season as well. Both wins against Sevilla and ManCity.

We generate >100MM in EBITDA each year, and have an underlevered balance sheet. We don't need to break even on our net transfers. If the team is serious about winning the UCL, they should take net spending up a notch this year.

That's true, but we don't know if we'll get the same Marchisio yet, he could become injury prone. Hopefully he'll be alright.

ACL injuries can be tricky and Marchisio is 30 years old. I expect him to be back in October, but you never know for 100%.

Khedira and Marchisio are made of glass and we'll play just a handful of games with both of them fit next season, you don't have to be a psychic to figure that one out. At least one starting level midfielder must be signed, not just a back-up player for rotation.

Conte : "Fabregas will stay at Chelsea."

btw Chelsea wants James.

suprise suprise :applause:
Yeah I heard of it... I expect them to succeed in signing him for 70M or a sum close to this..
The thing is he might not had the best of seasons but he is a player who could be a real monster if he developes any further! IMO Chelsea would be doing a great piece of business if they do it!

Something doesn't add up. They'll have Fabregas, Oscar and now James...Conte doesn't favour much this kind of players...he needs hard workers not flair and fancy.
