Isco and Matic.

I rated the latter a lot but last season he was meh, but so was everyone at Chelsea. So..
I like Kovacic and think he is a talented player but honestly if we get Isco, Matic would be better choice for us than Kovacic as we need a solid defensive minded mid! With that in mind Kovacic might be free as he would go on loan.. Matic would cost at least 25M

Morata's was 12.5 because we paid a bit over 20.7MM
20.7 / 5 = 4.15 of depreciation per year
~4.15x2 years = 8.3
=20.7-8.3 = 12.4
= ~12.5

Pogba's cost was like 800k IIRC. His cost depreciated should be sub 500k.

The profit makes no sense, unless tax is involved, which seems doubtful.
My thoughts excactly. Must be the fat mans cut.

In the books of football clubs when the team sells a player the team can get a gain on sale. This is different from cash profit. It is calculated by taking the amount of money received less the player's estimated value (not what we paid for him).

It is hard to tell because it may not be a very good translation but it is possible that this is what the 75m relates to.
That's not right. There are very few instances where you write up an asset before selling it. Two examples I can think of are held-for-trading investments like liquid securities (ie: stocks), and real estate (investment properties sometimes). For most assets though, the gain on sale on an accounting basis is on historical cost. Accounting tries to be conservative in most cases.

The calculation of the profits: You will note that the book value is equal to the cost less the depreciation accumulated on the basis of the time passed on their contracts.

This is the Accounting Policy from the Financial Statements. It states that it is recorded at cost. It can be modified but only in the case of an impairment.

Also note that it mentions that if the player is departing the club, the agent's fee is not capitalized (whereas it is if he is being purchased), which means part of the accounting effect would be one time expense for Raiola's fee. The net accounting effect would be his capital gain (which would be ~105MM less expenses such as the solidarity subsidy, which I'm still trying to understand), less the full expense of any agent fees.

Isco used to be my dream signing but honestly now I don't want him. I want to keep playing the 3-5-2, really interested in Dani Alves on the wing. Isco has no real place in our 3 man midfield.

Wouldn't mind getting Kovacic+Matic tho'.

We can play 4-3-1-2.

Something must be very wrong with that colombian for coaches to be evading him like a plague.

Zidane, being a flair a fance player himself, not wanting to even get near of James gives me very bad vibes. Soemthing is going on that we dont know?.

on the other hand.....Kovacic + isco....damn. Lets break the bank and go bankrupt but with style.

Juventus go in for Isco
By Football Italia staff

Mundo Deportivo claim Juventus will make an offer for Real Madrid creative midfielder Isco tomorrow.

According to the Spanish paper, a proposal is expected within the next 24 hours.

Isco has long been a favourite target for Coach Max Allegri, who wants more creativity from his midfield.

With Paul Pogba now sold to Manchester United for €105m plus €5m bonuses, the Bianconeri have plenty of cash to splash for a replacement.

This could also include an offer to take Mateo Kovacic on loan with option to buy as part of a package deal.

Both Isco and Kovacic were in the starting XI for Real Madrid in tonight’s European Super Cup clash with Sevilla.

It’s reported Real Madrid want at least €40m for 24-year-old Spain international Isco.
