Vidal was at 75% of his best form in his last season with us, mostly because of injury. The off field stuff and willingness to move were the catalysts. It's not like we really needed the money, even if Vidal is finished inside the next two seasons we could have kept him at 75% Vidal and he would have been more than useful, but those other factors came into play.

But he went out one night and he didn't have a book in his hand. We had to sell him.

Bonucci's importance was highlighted this year because Pirlo was gone from Juve and Italy. There was no playmaker in midfield and Bonucci was instrumental for the build up. He's also important in the same way Chiellini and Barzagli are important as parts of an incredibly well working defense consisted of players who know exactly how and where to move and where the other two are at any time.
Pjanic, depending on how will Allegri use him, might put some shadow on Bonucci's importance, but selling Bonucci will be badly felt. No matter the quality of his replacement, our team will be weaker in the first post-Bonucci season.

I wouldn't sell him even for 100m, mostly because he's my favorite Juve player atm. But 60m is a great price for a CB. I hope it won't arrive and I hope we reject it if it comes. Actually, scratch that. I hope such offer comes and I hope we reject it. It will feel great to reject a crazy offer for one of our star players, even if we know that it will never come again.

but I still don't know what was Vidal doing to cause the hate and potential transfer.

I'm not bitter at all. I just hate how fans ignore facts

Only retards say they disliked Vidal or wanted him gone before his transfer. I can guarantee not one person on the forum was asking for the board to sell him (well, maybe if there was some irrational Vidal hater like that Khungke guy with Marchisio, or Cronios and Alex with Bonucci).

All the dislike came about after he was sold, and some people needing to justify the transfer with whatever silly arguments necessary. It didn't help that Vidal was having some off-field problems, and chose to make some unfortunate comments...

Myself, I think the transfer was fine. It wasn't a major coup for us, nor was it a disaster. We got good value on a player who needed a change of scenery. It worked out best for all parties involved.

Question... Would people trade Bonucci for Aguero + 15 mil cash?

Bring Benatia and Kante as well, keep Cuadrado.

    CBs: Barza, Benatia, Chielio, Rugani...

    WBs/FBs: Alves, Cuadrado, Evra, Sandro

Mids: Pjanic, Pogba, Khedira, Marchisio, Kante, Lemina, Sturaro

    Forwards: Aguero, Dybala, Mandzu, Zaza

Bonucci is a bandiera (+ Juve supporter), tactically vital, prime age, psychologically important, and the only defender on that list who is a physical and technical guarantee. So no.

Agüero would play about 15 games in an Allegri team :D

We all know what the Vidal "hate" is about. Some people saw the opportunity to launch a deadly attack on Marotta (including older good members and mods).

So only last 6 months count? We're ignoring previous seasons when the guy carried our ass to the top? He gave us that Conte mentality and was a fundemental player.

I'm really sick how majority fans ignore things when players leave and pretend how the move made total sense just because Juventus can't do wrong. Or they just make up excuses or read TS saying how he went out drinking, that's a reason to sell. Same goes for coaches. Pathetic.

    But Caceres is still here?
What did Juve do wrong in the Vidal sale? We sold him because he wanted out, not because we thought hes not good anymore.

He was great in the past but never the same player after the injury, not even now in Bayern. He will never be as good as he was 11-14, and in that 14-15 season Pogba surpassed him as our best midfielder, even Marchisio performed on a much higher level through out the season constantly. His sale didnt affect us that much to regret it, we are still top 4-5 club and one of the favorites to win the CL, so no regrets there

Apparently Milan offered 25M for Pjaca while I doubt we would offer the same so its definitely goodbye Pjaca
Napoli offered 25M too and it wasn't goodbye Pjaca

Yeah. I wouldn't either. I was just curious about thoughts on it, with Pep apparently obsessed with BonBon and ManCity apparently improving upon that 45mil offer. I value Aguero at about 40-45 mil.

Dybala is an interesting case for getting a striker to play alongside. Allegri seems to see him as an SS, even though he was often used as a Prima punta at previous teams... so a guy like Aguero or Sanchez doesn't seem like the best idea to partner Dybala. And moving DYbala to the wing also seems like a silly idea. So at the moment, we are sorta stuck with a 2 man frontline. Improving on Mandzukic is difficult. There are only a few Number 9s out there that would be a clear improvement, and most of them are impossible to get.

The best path to improving our team seems to still be improving our midfield. If Khedira or Marchisio is healthy, you can't really improve a 3-man midfield. Same with Alves and Sandro on the wing. And obviously our BBC defense. Mandzu is really the only player we could improve upon, and his is the hardest position to obtain world class players.

Basically, best case scenario imo, is getting another well-rounded young forward to develop behind Mandzu and Dybala, a modern forward able to both score and create... but not the finished article yet.

And getting one more top young midfield player. Though Lemina could probably be that... Khedira should be healthy to start the season. If he is our midfield starting trio is fantastic. If not... Kante?

I'm just trying to figure how the hell we actually improve our team...

Khedira was fantastic down the stretch of the season, and has hardly been injured in that period, only minor knocks. Assuming that continues into next year, we have a starting midfield trio of Khedira-Pjanic-Pogba.

You can't improve upon that. Once Marchisio comes back and finds form you can move Pjanic to his favourite position of LCM with Pjanic-Marchisio-Pogba or to AM in a 4-3-1-2 in front of Khedira-Marchisio-Pogba. The only reason we're even thinking of one more midfielder is because of the Marchisio injury. If we were to bring in Kante (while keeping Lemina), our midfield would be obscene. The best in football by a wide margin.

Our wingbacks: Alves and Sandro. You can't get better.

Our CBs: Barza, Chiello, BonBon, Rugani, Benatia?... Insanity.

    Dybala. Not improvable.

Mandzukic... very difficult to improve, but the only position on the squad that could really be improved.

People seem to think we have to improve this team to compete for the CL. I really don't see that. This is a finished team. All that's left is improving the bench, with a couple young players to compete for spots.

    .

The biggest weakness of this team are injuries. If our key players can stay fit through out the season with only minor injuries at times when we don't play important games, this team has everything it takes to win the CL. It won't be easy still, you need "luck" and the refs to not screw you over but we have great chances to win it. Assuming Benatia is a done deal, adding a quality depth CM, signing that 3rd striker and maybe keeping Cuadrado if possible are the only deals we need at the moment and ones that would add something to this team as a whole. The starting XI is nearly impossible to improve unless we spend 50M on a player or Beppe finds a new gem

they earn millions wherever they go, yet still some settle for one club. Bonucci numerous times showed that he loves this club and has no intention of leaving. look at Vidal, 1st chance he got he ran away. wont happen with Bonucci

    - - - Updated - - -

so the difference between keeping and selling the best CB in the world for you is 20M. what a Borussia Dortmund mentality
Bonucci is the best ball playing defender in the world and is a World Class defender and deserves to be the highest valued defender. He is not the best CB in the world.
