I like Marrone as a homegrown player option. He has a decent level of maturity to be used in the league, and would be a better option than most other HG players we can vouch for at the moment. Good move if true.

Mirante, is or was a given.

Marrone hasn't played more than 15 matches for his last few clubs. I guess if we want someone to take the last spot in the reserves then that is fine.

Get benatia and Kovacic on loan with options to buy and get Alves for free, Berardi partly funded by 2 trades /loans plus some decent fee, and we would upgraded our depth by some margin without forking out much. Just need to keep Morata and buy a strong AM or CM.

If we go for Kovacic then that will probably be our CM signing, unless they want another DM. Pogba, Khedira, Sturaro, Marchisio, Lemina, Kovacic, and that will do it. All of these are good depth signings but none will push us to the next level. Perhaps Kovacic will in a few years.

Are there any strong rumours about Miki leaving Dortmund? That would be suicide from BVB. They would be losing Miki and Hummels in one window and possibly aubameyang too.

They generally seem to be awful at selling losing Lewandowski for free, hummels for peanuts, Sahin for peanuts, and Gotze on a massive discount over the years. Even Kagawa (who was one of their stars) was sold to UTD for peanuts. They might be good at scouting and nurturing talents but they seem awful at selling.
