I would expect Mascherano to push Marchisio on a box to box role, unless Javier is meant to be a CB primarily.

Mascherano also has a contract until end of 2017/18 season, can't see why Barcelona would let him leave for cheap and I can't see Marotta paying big for a 32 year old player.

Miki would be expensive

Probably someone who wont cost more than 30M

Gomes-Mascherano-Pogba

Jesus :tuttosport:

I would sell Khedira if a good offer arrives imo.
Selling Khedira would be stupid and it won't happen but I can see another Evra/Sandro kind of thing happening with Khedira/Gomes.

Khedira Mascherano Marchisio
Pogba

That would be sweet with Gomes, Sturaro, Lemina and Pereyra as backups.

I like Mascherano a lot, but I saw 30mln being mentioned.

Yes that might be it, maybe they saw that there is a problem with our midfield when MArchisio, Khedira and Pogba are not playing. When two of them were absent our midfield was easily out played by many opponents, it just shows that while we have good bench options for rest positions, our mf trio just cant be replaced. I dont really believe in Mascherano transfer, but he would be perfect if we can sign him.

Agree we do need better cover.

Busquets is hardly faster.

And aren't we going for Gomes, too?

Either way being fast isn't a quality I look at a DM.
Its less to do with Mascherano but more to do with Khedira.

Somehow i feel midfield will look less athletic with both Khedira and Mascherano.I dont look for speed in DM either.

Gomes and Pogba with Mascherano on the other hand has everything in it.Would be a bloody awesome midfield that.

Mascherano is a wonderful player. Despite his age, with a good price, he'd be an amazing signing.

Too bad Serie A keeps attracting old star players. Some are still very good, though.

I'd love this transfer to happen.

I am not sure if Mascherano is needed.

Defensive wise, I think Sturaro can cover more than Mascherano today, and offensively you really can't expect much of him when you have Pogba, Dybala, Cavani.
