Why? He doesn't play as CAM for Roma most of the time. He was even playing behind Radja.

Why can Pirlo do it but not Pjanic in a 3-5-2 (apart from the obvious fact that Pirlo is God)?
Pjanic has barely played as the deepest midfielder for Roma.

Either its at the sides or behind the strikers.

I don't think he'll be able to handle the regista role very well.

I see him as more of an attacking midfielder basically.

Non-familiarity with the position, defensive duties and the fact that Pjanic's final third contribution would be missed if he plays deeper are the reasons I don't want to see him play regista.

We should break the bank and take giant loan from Exor to sign Gomes, Neymar, and Griezmann. Sell Zaza and Morata.

Play 4-3-3 when Marchisio is back.

Pogba - Pjanic - Khedira could work for half a season where we mainly facing weaker teams and our RWB is defensively solid Licht, Hernanes plays this role now and he doesn't have an aota defensive ability over Pjanic.

If facing tough opponents we could go with Lemina as regista /DM instead of Pjanic perhaps.

But this could all be avoided if we just buy a real Marchisio alternative and play Pjanic as trequartista instead. But how likely are we to do that?
Well...Lemina kinda is. In babyshoes, but he is

Report: Liverpool secure Zielinski
By Football Italia staff

Liverpool have agreed a €12m deal to sign Piotr Zielinski from Udinese, say reports in Poland.

The midfielder has impressed during his loan at Empoli this season and has been linked with the Reds for months.

Canal Plus in Zielinski’s home country Poland have now reported that Liverpool found an agreement with Udinese to sign the 21-year-old for around €12m.

The midfielder will join the Anfield outfit officially on Wednesday, according to the outlet.

Zielinski is a Poland international and has scored five goals and contributed six assists in 35 appearances for Empoli this season.

Gomes links are persistent... BUT we do not make such transfers (expensive ones) so I wouldnt count on us signing him...
As for Pjanic he could be here for 38M and we can also use Zaza so I`m more optimistic about this one...
I can really see Pjanic giving us some magic even if he isnt on top of my list

The real news is that we have budgeted 15 millions to try and keep Morata. I have a feeling it will not be enough, especially if Real want to hold an auction about him as EPL clubs are prepared to offer substantially more.
Money ain't the problem here. To make a real profit; Real needs over 45 m for him. Because they need to pay 30 and could het 15m for us.

Anyway it'll depend on Morata. If he's happy here, and I think he is, he'll stay. If he wants more playing time, he'll go.

I don't see them making more than €40m profit on him so it's close but I still feel there is a real possibility in Zidane wanting him as part of his team.

maybe morata, zaza are gone? plus we probs have coman at 27m (20+7m loan) sold next yr?
None of those are midfielders... Investing that much money makes no sense and would be plain stupid. Our scudetto winning midfield; Pogba, Khedira, Marchisio cost us somwhere between 0 and 1 million... So anyone who sees us investing about 80 million in 2 midfielders this summer is quite unrealistic.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, an agreement between the Bianconeri and the player was reached last Saturday.

It’s thought Pereira will receive a five-year contract worth €250,000 per season.

However, due to rules about non-EU players, the youngster will not play for the Turin club next season, and will be loaned out to gain Serie A experience.

It’s thought Empoli and Sassuolo represent the most likely options, as both have good relationships with the Old Lady.
