I talked about selling 2 and buying 1 as opposed to buying 2.

It doesn't make sense because it means you need a player that can play as AM and DM at the same time. Who fits the bill? Surely not Gomes. I have a hard time seeing Allegri playing Pjanic as DM too, which we discussed a few days ago.

A CM/AM doesn't cover Marchisio's role at all so I don't see your point.

I am not talking about a like for like replacement for Marchisio but a CM who can play various roles.Lemina or Hernanes to play Marchisio's role until he returns if we can't exactly find a CM who can play DM as well.

I want us maintain quality in the midfield area so a CM would be a more desirable signing in that respect.

Right. So right now we can consider Pogba and Khedira reliable in terms of quality in CM area. If we want to add someone, we have to sell definitely, because in terms of numbers we're covered very well.

IMO AM depends only on Morata. I think we already gave up on Cuadrado but we'll try hard to keep Morata. If we keep him there could be room for a CM and AM depending on who we want to sign and for how much. Sales will be important too. As for Cuadrado replacement I expect De Sciglio/Vrsalijko so we'll spend 10-15m at most.

If Morata goes, we'll need to get a new striker. Everything will change then.

Besides both Mandzukic and Zaza won't be happy if Cavani comes.We'd have to restructure our attack all over again.

not saying I want this but I think if a good Zaza offer comes along he is gone. I don't think Zaza enjoys riding the bench any more or less than Cavani likes playing anything other than CF
