What we need is il nuovo Caceres. Someone that can literally play anywhere on the backline as backup.

Sign me Bruno Peres for RB and a new CB and we are golden for the Defense next year.

Any nice CB's in the pipeline from Primavera?

And if Gomes is done then we are set for midfield. And if Berardi is done we are set for attack. If Morata leaves then we can replace him.

Priority is the backline and a backup for Buffon if Neto leaves.
:agree:

We need a defender who can play RB and CB, especially with the restrictions in squad size next year.

Not sure of any decent options though. Mustafi seems to be one, Ivanovic too but he would be pricey and unlikely to sit on a bench.

I'm not yet convinced on Peres, I've not seen enough of him but he seems like someone who relies on his pace to cover mistakes, which could get caught out at a higher level. I've not watched him often and its unlikely Torino would sell him to us anyway.

Romagna.

and found the pass. :D

Romagna would never be given the chance, well maybe in Coppa.

I prefer Widmer over Peres and anyone else that we can get. Younger than Peres and Vrsaljko, defensively superior to Peres and miles ahead of Vrsalko in regards to crossing.

As far as a CB is concerned, just get a good one that is at least reasonably young. And preferably left footed.
Peres is pretty deadly going forward. Hard to find someone like Sandro that can do both attack & defend.

We all thought Cuadrado was all attach and no defending but Allegri changed that.

No it isn't.

Evra is 35, Barzagli is 35, Lichsteiner is 32, Chiellini will be 32. We have 1 defender under the age of 25, and that is Rugani. That is a recipe for disaster unless they do something.

Where have most of the injuries taken place this year? On the defense. This squad has always been built from the back.
You are forgetting Sandro. And if we get Cuadrado he would be the Lichsteiner replacement for the right flank if we go with 3 at the back.

I think we need a new Caceres as someone earlier suggested. Someone just at home at playing in a back 3 or right back. Not easy to find unfortunately.

If we get Andre Gomes then I don't think we'll get a TQ on too of that.
And he's a typical example of Marotta's 'eclectic' player fetish :D

Andre Gomes (30m)
Vrsjalko (15m)
Berardi (25m)
CB (??)
Keep Morata (20m to RM) and Pogba

Proper €80m mercato.I would be delighted if we had a summer like this.
That's at least 90m there. Plus the CB.

Going to need to include some youngsters to Sass to lower the fees.

Gomes could play as AM for Allegri while also being capable of playing CM/B2B in 352. He's not an AM but he's technically gifted and strong so I could see Allegri trying him there.

I said under 25. Sandro is 25, I did not forget him. Bottom line, this defense is old and now injury prone more than ever

I never said he wasn't, but I don't think that he is all around as good as Widmer, who is also 3 years younger, and is on a squad that we actually have a good relationship with.

Unless you want to grossly overpay for Peres. I don't.
