A CB/RB like Caceres would be nice if Cuadrado isnt bought and we start using a 4man defence more
I'd take a chance on Benatia if we can get a good deal. Guy is a beast when fit.

As it stands for next season: Licht, Barzagli, Bonucci, Rugani, Chiellini, Evra, Sandro

Depending on our formation next season either a RB or CB needs to come. Probably both actually b/c we can't expect Licht to play every game.

How long will barzagli's form hold up? Will Chiellini stay injury free? Chiellini is the most injury prone defender we have. If we play a 352 then we def need a RB and CB. If we play with a back 4 I'd stay go all out on a top RB ala Sandra on the left and take our chances with 4 CBs.

And promote some youth. :agree:

Perfect Mercato for me:

Berardi
CM (Gomes?)
Benatia
RB (Vrsjako)

- - - Updated - - -

(and keep our key players of course)

I was hoping we can give more chances to Lirola as 2nd choice RB and 3rd choice RWB if we keep Cuadrado but if he leaves we definitely need someone to rotate with Licht regulatly. Vrsaljko and Widmer seem like the obvious choices but I hope we can get someone more proven or with more potential in case we lose Cuadrado (Cancelo, Danilo, Fabinho). Wouldnt mind one of Vrsaljko or Widmer though.

4 CBs would be enough if we use 43whatever as our primary formation, even if we lose Chiellini on a long injury we can always loan someone in January. With 352 as the main formation we need a CB definitely so It all depends on what happens to Cuadrado id say

As for the midfield, if we sign Diawara he wouldnt take away a spot on our 25 players list since hes under 21 which would allow us to sign another mid

DM/CM Diawara
CM/AM Andre Gomes

:xfinger:

For the attack, keep Morata and add Berardi. If one of Zaza and Morata leaves get Lapadula (hes a homegrown player apparently) as 5th striker. Close mercato

Thing is, if we pay to keep Morata and bring over Berardi...that's like 50m right there right from the start.

Vrsaljko: 15m?
Gomes: 30m?
CB: ??

Like I said, we need to promote some younger players. We won't spend 90m this summer without selling. :D

What is Beppe cooking up? :beppe:

- - - Updated - - -

UNLESS...we send youngers to Sass to lower the Berardi price :weee:

What was that CM we were looking at from Bologna/Cagliari? Can't recall...

Mandragora, Caprari, Ganz, why do you think we signed all of them :beppe:

I think Zaza might leave if Morata stays and we bring Berardi. He rarely plays even this season when we had lota of injuries in attack, imagine next season with Berardi and Morata staying

You mean Donsah who we apparently told Bologna to buy last summer? Or Diawara who was linked to us recently?

This guy.

I think we can do "most" of our shopping in Italy. We can get some very shrewd signings with Beppe using youngsters to lower the rate.

Get Berardi and Vrasjko from Sass. Diawara/Donsah for CM from Bologna.

Aren't both of them considered homegrown players? :weee:

Actually, the more I think about it, I see us really going for Anderson.

Marotta did say he was going to shop more in Italy.

Im not sure where we would fit Anderson if Morata stays. But I agree that most of our signings would be from Italy. Berardi obviously, Diawara or Donsah for midfield (hopefully Diawara), Lapadula (if Morata or Zaza leave), possibly an RB if Cuadrado leaves (Vrsaljko or Widmer). All from Italy. From abroad Gomes maybe (i dont think we would go for him if we keep Cuadrado since he will be 30M atleast) and Rodrigo Caio for CB (if Cuadrado stays)

If you add up potential transfer fees then it seems impossible IMO. In particular Anderson looks unlikely, because I don't believe Lotito would be so retarded to sell for 25m. I'm not really a fan but I think we should expect Saponara, it'd be a typical Beppe transfer.

If we get Anderson I think we'll drop the plan for Berardi, because I'm pretty certain Beppe is going to make a play for Morata at 25-30m. That's going to eliminate Berardi money or Anderson money. Other financial investments will be along the lines of Benatia, Diawara, Vrsaijko, Gomes type.

And Benatia might become possible without any financial outlay in a similar loan agreement to Coman or covering the Coman money in an outright trade.

Benatia is injury-prone I rather we go for someone with more vision than him then I hope it's either Romagnoli or darmian.Vrsaijko as RB would be good idea to rotate with Lichtsteiner for a 4 3 3 and keep Cuadrado to use a dynamic alternative that fits into our 3 5 2 to me keep Cuadrado is more important than get a RB

More than anything, we need AT LEAST 2 new defenders. We are skating on very very thin ice here with age and injuries creeping in.

Forget the MF, forget another attacker. The priority simply has to be the backline.

Diawara is definitely some young talent but I dont understand the hype over Donsah
Pretty overrated if you ask me...
Anyway Morata (25M) Berardi (Zaza) AM (Isco would be impossible as Real wont sell him Gotze will be last summer all over again... Mkhitirian is possible and could be the one we get but he`ll cost around 30M) Lapadula (10M)
Overall in 25+30+10=65M usually we spend less which makes me think the 30M for AM won`t happen... so we are at 35M now which is about right BUT we have a weaker team as Cuadrado is gone
Lapadula is definitely our type of signing Morata for 25M might or might not happen but overall we will have to pay big in order to get someone great so the sum is about right...
Berardi will probably happen and Zaza out is also probable...
Unless something interesting happens like a monster offer from Chelsea for Bonucci I dont see us getting any special AM/retaining Cuadrado or anything special...

:agree:

RB and CB.

Vrsaljko + Benatia for example.

Our attack and midfield are insane. We do need to assess the reliability of our cm's tho.

I would prefer Widmer to Vrsaljko, if I were given a choice.

Benatia, in my opinion, would only add to the injury problems that we already have. I would also definitely want someone younger who will be part of the future.
