Just done watching some compilations of Kaka during his first milan peroid. For a while now, i've been wondering if there is actually any CAM out that i like, for whom i'd like juve to change their formation.
Thing is i hate nearly any modern CAM.

After seeing those compilations, it reminded me what i really liked in a CAM. Truth be told, you either have a really good one that enlights the stadium, or you dont. Kaka was exactly everything i like in a cam

Nowadays? Honestly I haven't seen a proper classic AM since probably... Kaká. The one that gets the closest - as you said one that can bring the stadium to a roar - would be James but not the one at Madrid. The one at the World Cup.

And that's not only my opinion, Rivellino himself said he was playing like a true 10 at that tournament and that he did.

All the other modern 10s are decent to good, nothing that compares the ones in the past. The best players now are wingers or they take on a fuller role, a striker that does it all, call it complete or something like that. I do miss those players though.

Seeing Kaka play. So very skilled, yet nothing unecessary. Always moving with purpose and efficiency, passes carving out defences, getting past players only to open up the defence further, and seriously good at running in pace himself, and good finishing

thing is Dortmund is not able to replace the likes of Lewandowski, Götze or Hummels 1:1. like sell WC - buy WC player. it doesn't work for Dortmund. the best thing they can do is keep buying young talented players, because the finished product isn't going to join them, or is at least very hard to get.

therefore i think i understand why they let their players run down their contracts, because players like Gündogan or Lewandowski ARE already WC players, you simply know what you've got. imo it's better for Dortmund to run down their contracts and keep the proven WC players as long as possible. all the money they'd get couldn't sign them a player of the same quality.
