Padoin signed a new contract so hes staying, Lemina will most likely be bought so there is no way we are keeping Asamoah AND get a new CM. If we are getting a new midfielder (which is Diawara i hope) then Asamoah and probably even Pereyra are goners

Yep, Berardi behind the strikers seems like an exciting idea. Dybala already established himself at the SS so there is no reason to change his position suddenly, and I don't think we are moving away from playing with 2 upfront anytime soon so the best bet for Berardi to find regular playing time is behind 2 strikers.

I dont want to be mean to Padoin, but he fills no role in this team anymore. I guess he was extended to be able to be sold for something instead of for free.. but i dont see the point in that since he would be dirt cheap anyways. The thing is...Padoin has no space in the team and is a valuable spot that could be used. Nothing against the guy but he is totally ignored by Allegri so he better should move away.
Pereyra could be gone tho. Since his injury he has vanished and midfield is a position we need gamechangers with urge.
I would try to keep asamoah because tactical reasons, as he can cover pogba´s and sandro´s positions and he is very energetic (when fit). What i wan to say is that asamoah is tried and tested..and is not old... while pereyra doesnt have a role in the team so if i have to choose, asamoah would be more logical, at least for me.
Summary: Pereyra, Padoin and Hernanes should be the ones leaving to make space for new guys since they have no roles.

if we sign a CM, like Diawara, then hes definitely gone. cant keep the same players forever, we have Sensi, Mandragora wrapped up already, we were linked with Castrovilli for 2 seasons now and might sign him, we have "told Bologna to buy Donsah", we have options for those 3 CMs from Boca... not all will make it and become Juve level but you can see the number of young CMs we have waiting. cant get rid of Khedira, Asa, Pereyra, Padoin in the same summer and replace them with these kids, we will do it slowly, replacing 1-2 each summer
Diawara is a DM whose purchase wouldn't affect Asamoah's position in our squad in the slightest. If anything it would mean Hernanes is off. Asamoah is the only player player other than Pogba who has played at LCM for us this season(ouside of a sole, poor Sturaro performance) and can also provide cover at LWB for Sandro if Evra doesn't renew. Offloading him would be a terrible idea and the people saying we should do so will be the first to moan when Sandro and Pogba(if he's even here next season) are rested and we see a beautiful De Ceglie - Sturaro partnership on the left side.

No one is saying we should offload him, only that I think he will be gone. Diawara was just an example, could be any mid we were linked to, but if we get him we would have Marchisio, Pogba, Lemina, Khedira, Sturaro, Diawara, Padoin. Thats 7 players, more than enough for 3 spots. Asamoah (when fit, and that doesent happen often lately) would be 5th or 6th choice, not sure he would be OK with that. Evra is also likely staying considering the latest reports. Another thing, with only 25 players on the roster next season, 3 of which would be 'useless' primavera kids, can we really afford our main bench options to be injured so much, like this season with Pereyra, Asamoah and Caceres? I wouldn't take such a risk. Also, we will very rarely play play without both Sandro and Pogba at the same time, so De Ceglie (wrtf?) and Sturaro on the left side would never happen

It's not 7(8 with Asamoah) players for 3 spots, because they are not all competing with eachother. If you add Asamoah to your list it's basically basically 2 DMs, 2 LCMs, 3 RCMs and Padoin, with Asa being the #2 LCM. He's also the #3/2 LWB depending on whether Evra renews, so selling him means we'd have to buy another LCM with the money from Asa's lowest value in years or play Sturaro as Pogba's backup. I mentioned De Ceglie because as I recall he's homegrown and without Evra and Asamoah he's the best fit LWB we own. If you find the prospect of a Padoin - Sturaro left side more likely then go with that. The reason we barely rest Pogba and Sandro at the same time is that we barely rest Pogba period. We rest Sandro more or less every other game because he plays in a very taxing position, so if Evra doesn't renew and Pogba gets injured or is rested along with Sandro for a big CL game, the prospect of seeing Padoin - Sturaro on the left becomes very realistic.
On the subject of his injury-prone nature, it's exaggerated. He was fit for his first two seasons and then had to undergo a serious knee surgery. He was rushed back much sooner than he should have been which reinjured him and he's been rushed back again in an attempt to play his way to full fitness. The minor injuries he's had this season are the predictable result of that quick return and the fact he hasn't been seriously injured since is a good sign. If he makes it to the summer without any major injury he shouldn't be more likely to be injured than any other player in our squad, and if he doesn't we won't be able to offload him anyway.

It's really hard not to like Asamoah as he's humble, respectful and hardworking player, gritty, nice skills and in general he's a very good midfielder. Would be starting material at most clubs, but he's got to stay fit for more than 10 games per season to remain here. These last two years have been difficult because he would suffer a relapse time and again. I can see the club giving him one more season, but if the same issues persist he'll be offloaded. imo

Yes, can't stand him. He's limited as fuck. All the grit in the world isn't enough, when his ball playing skills are atrocious.
