Because we were a wrongly called offside goal away from knocking out Bayern without Dybala, Marchisio and Chiellini?

Right...
All valid points, but excuses in the end. We should have sealed it to prevent being robbed. We lacked quality on patches in this both games.
Like the final from last year... we fought well, but were bested by better quality overall.

It hurts, but we need to go up smoe levels to be able to overcome situations like this. We simply cant be counting with hernaneses and khediras to make a difference for us when the other teams have game breakers in the starting line up and in the bench. Its as simple as that

But we clearly did have those "game breakers" in this tie. We scored 4 goals. 5 if you count the absurdly disallowed goal. We went toe to toe with Bayern and drew them 2-2 twice and then lost in extra time. Based upon last year and this year, we are clearly on the same level as Bayern, and only behind Barca. It goes Barca and then 4-5 teams all at the same level vying to gain that little edge.

Stop acting like this showed we're on a lower level or some shit like that. The only difference today was a wrongly disallowed goal. We had far more chances and just weren't clinical enough. On another day we put 4-5 goals past Neuer.

I agree with your post. What worries me is that it's hard to be on that high level we are right now and we could easily lose some important players this summer like Pogba, Morata and Cuadrado.

This is what worries me too. Marotta's words about not keeping any player here who asks to leave... I think we have to insist upon Pogba staying this summer no matter what offers come in. He's under contract to 2019 so the player should have no say at all. If we don't sell him this summer, 2016, the same offers will come in next summer.

And we should make a very big attempt to sign Cuadrado, just because of the tactical flexibility he offers us, and his game-changing ability, even if he is inconsistent.

Morata should be a priority too. Even offering another 10-20 mil to try to get the buyback clause voided.

Add to that maybe 1-2 top signings... obviously not 50 mil type signings, but if we could sign a couple 30 mil rated players that could give us that little edge we need to reach Barca level, alongside our young stars continuing to improve.

Yep, there is another thing too. If we sell Pogba and Morata and we don't opt for Cuads we'll have about 150 mil to spend. The problem is that finding players with the qualities of Pogba and Morata is f*ing hard and perhaps we'll have another transitional season.

Also I think we need more muscle in the back. If Evra and Lichtsteiner were 25-29 years old we wouldn't have lost this game. I can't stop but feel that we lost this game only due to physicality

I feel this way too, we were melted around the 70th minute, Morata and Khedira (not specially old players) couldn't take it any longer. Evra too by the time he made that mistake. Some more muscle and energy would have ended this match 2-0 with no casualties.

The question is, who is missing in our championship puzzle? Is a RB all we need? A LW? What's keeping us away from that CL title?

Sell Mario Mandzukic. Sell Evra.
I`m not Mandzukic biggest fan but he is a good player - I`d sell him as he isnt young and we could get someone better while we can still get some nice $ on Mandzukic
About Evra - It would be very stupid to get rid of him as he is a very good player and could provide good depth

Actually our RB is fine - He might didnt have the best game yesterday but he is still a very good player!
What we need is some good attacking players technically gifted with great vision and passing ability and 1 great striker as Morata and Mandzukic are not good enough in order to reach the level we want (If possible I would keep Morata as he can provide good depth can rotate and is kind of a clutch player which is great in crucial moments!)

Gotze - I dont believe he would come here but if we can - Sign him
Isco - Same as Gotze
James - Wont come and probably we dont have the funds for his transfer or wages but if we can we should sign him whatever his price is
Cavani - Strong and quite fast + great goalscorer - Should be our no 1 target!

Cuadrado - He is getting better every game so I`d definitely try to keep him

CB a great CB could be a very good thing but its not a must!
CM - Khedira is not fully fit most of the times and even if he is we still need depth so a CM might be needed here...

I would like to see this lineup next season if we go for 3-5-2 - Buffon;Chiellini Bonucci Barzagli;A.Sandro Pogba Marchisio Hamsik Cuadrado;Dybala Cavani - Realistic and not that hard to achieve!
I`d go for this one if we go 4-3-1-2 Buffon;A.Sandro Chiellini Bonucci Licht;Pogba Gundogan Marchisio;Hamsik;Dybala Cavani
I`d go for this one if we go for 4-3-3 Buffon;A.Sandro Chiellini Bonucci Licht;Pogba Marchisio Hamsik;Dybala (sub Morata - could be very helpful there) Cavani Cuadrado (sub Berardi might become regular after a while depends on him)

The dream of course would be signing Veratti to manage our game but we all know that is not going to happen...

It's hard to keep up pace with a team like Barca. On paper this year they should be a lot more balanced. They took Vidal who is a great RW/RB and Turan. Right now if we play with them we would need a lot of luck and complacency on their side to overcome them (it's not impossible though).

I feel we are missng a great derby games in our league with teams like Barca, Bayern, Real and so on. Such a derby on a regular basis will make us feel a little less concern when we are facing other world class sides.

I thought that Bayern has a far better team before the games with us, but it's so obvious that they are very unbalanced and can be beaten if you attack them well. Their defense is too weak for their arrogance.

Only Barca are looking like an almost impossible challenge right now, I can't even imagine building a team like theirs with the resources we have.

Still, I agree that we are on the same par with BM, PSG and even Real Madrid. Maybe we are less confident than them.

Absolutely. Khedira and Morata were absolutely lathered in this game. In our CL run last year I loved that whenever we had to batten down the hatches and defend a lead we'd switch to 3-5-2 and be absolutely impregnible like in those games against Dortmund, Madrid and Monaco. We absolutely missed having that option tonight. Didn't help that Mandzukic was rushed to play this game and was nowhere near fully fit. I wished Max had played Zaza in Mandzukic's stead, but can't fault him in putting trust in Mario considering his heroics in the first leg and buh game experience.

I think above all else, next year we have to get all our guys healthy. It does'nt help that we've got the euros and copa america this summer, but we need to get all these guys rested and healthy. Depth wise we are set if all of our guys are fit. We should focus on getting quality players to get us to the bext level.

I expect Pogba will ask to leave to be honest. Raiola will also push this season, especially if we win the Scudetto. He wants the CL now, and last night will probably make him question his will to be at Juve in order to get that done, but I can assure him right now, he would be wrong to leave us. This team is getting closer to the title with every passing season, with or without him. I would indicate though that he will leave this season, and we perhaps will get Allegri the AM he needs but would also then have to prioritise a CM and RB, maybe even LB depending on what we intend to do with Asa.
