'I think players want titles first'

Yeah and you gotta pay those players well too on top of paying large transfer fee.

What do you expect ? That players come running to us and even accept a paycut because we win titles ?

Serie A as a league is battling for relevancy and i'm reading things like United or City are not ambitious as Juventus.
Juventus is ofcourse ambitious. They aim to win big things. But they also have pretty clear economic constraints. Its clear for everyone to see.

"players want titles first" in today's Football?

Sure, buddy. Whatever you want to believe.
First of all I think you are being overly cynical, especially CrimsonianKing. That is not to your advantage btw as it is not perceived as the experience talking tbh.

I never suggested we send players an e-mail invitation and expect them to pay for their own transport on the way, did I?

Seria A is battling for relevancy... Well what can I tell you, Fiorina is a good business woman and Trump is man on a mission to compete and sell more tuxedos. Hence Bernie the Jew, compared softly and with a smile to Jesus.

CrimsonianKing apparently has spend most of his adult life being a multimillionaire judged mostly for his performance on the pitch. So he knows what its all about this life...

WTf am I reading here?

If I didn't know better I'd think our players are rummaging through trash bins in order to make it till the next pay. They could earn more in EPL, but we're not offering pittance here. I thought this theory has been debunked ages ago, of significant gap between the salaries. Rooney is the highest payed EPL player and he's on 8.5m net. Not all of these outcasts will be counting on to find themselves in this category.

Pogba will earn here 6.5m net next season btw.

:agree:

Sure, all of those players will be reckoning to get 7-8m per year. It's absolutely hilarious how every player is predestined for EPL according to you. Nice little campaign you're running there.

Oh and Serie A battling for relevancy

Lets have this conversation when Juventus have the capacity to lure players that command big wages and is capable of paying an acceptable transfer fee. When i say acceptable it usually ends up being inflated.
These are just normal market conditions of today.

For example when Kroos is available(who earns 6m net a yr) and you dont offer a fee or a wage not within normal market standards, there's no conversation. He'll choose a destination which guarantees him both money and prestige and lets not pretend like playing in a big 4 EPL club or in this case the Manchester's for the matter isnt appealing. Both would be having world class coaches at the helm next season.
Just an example.
It's all true but in this specific situation Kovacic is hardly a hot name IMO. It's redundant to talk about James, Kroos and so on but Kovacic is actually affordable and possible in case they want to sell/the players wants to go.

Kovacic would be a very interesting player to have.

Perma-ignore listed.

Juventus will have competition for that clearance sale though.Heavy competition infact.
Which is fine because the clubs that can compete with us might have their focus and attention on Real's players rather than our own targets which would be nice. Strike while the iron is hot.

I agree but i doubt Juventus would be willing to spend big money on him. When i say big money,30-35m range.

Rooney can't surely be highest on 8.5m in EPL? City have the highest wage budget in all sports, how is that possible without giving the few stars more then that? Ok their bench players, are on 5-6m but still.

yea it seems hard to believe they can't afford to pay a lot more than us considering how much more money the PL brings in from sponsorships and tv rights

I think players want titles first and I want those players.
Actually, the grand majority wants money first, and titles only come into account, when they can chose between equal money offers.

The grand majority will go to City for the huge money and micropenis attitude, unless barcelona/bayern/madrid offer a similar amount, in wich case they'll go to the biggest chance of winning trophee's.

Not all players are like that tho. And its these you need to keep an eye on. Its especially the case for domestic players. You wil want these to be your long term mainstays

As you said in so many a words, but the problem with posters here is very few can differentiate between professionalism and money-whoring. They are definitely not the same thing and you really MUST know that when dealing with billionaires. No one can blame the 'average public' for this specific miss of knowledge, but it would stand to reason one would hope people so much out of the pie would honor more moral principles.

PS: Besides most players that are worth it are intelligent enough to know what is what in life by the time they come to this big transfer. Some people here act like the motto of the billionaire club is "let the door wide open so everyone can join and sing kumbaya". I was humbled by the thought of Barca directors giving Messi (obviously the best player in the world by a mile and probably best ever) so much money he can actually buy them. That is a wise and extremely popular deed by most bosses.

I'm merely trying to suggest playing for an EPL top club doesnt necessarily equate to money-whoring as you guys are trying to suggest.
Its not like they're playing in the Chinese super league.I'm sure all of us know the allure of the PL is big enough especially when you have coaches like Guardiola and Mourinho managing teams over there.
