Well I mean like I said at the time if we want to play what we thought at the time would be 4-3-1-2 with the occasional 3-5-2 or vice versa then it made plenty of sense.
But to get rid of a left winger then start experimenting with 4-3-3 hurt my brain. Considering we had like 3 CFs for 1 spot in that formation yet zero left sided players. No wonder it failed.

IMO our priority this summer should be:

Aside from that I don't really see that much of a necessity to get anyone.
4-3-1-2
GK: Buffon, Neto, 3rd keeper from our academy
RB: Lichtsteiner, new guy
CB: Bonucci, Chiellini, Barzagli, Rugani
LB: Alex Sandro, Evra
DM: Marchisio, new guy
CM: Pogba, Khedira, Sturaro, Asamoah*
CAM: New guy, Pereyra
SS: Dybala, new guy
ST: Morata, Mandzukic, Zaza
Cáceres, Padoin and everyone not in the list: Gone
Everyone has a direct replacement that doesn't bring down the quiality of the first team too much.
We should evaluate Asamoah's situation, we can't afford to keep him if he continues this way. Probably sell him and bring a new CM as well, or sell him, put Pereyra as a CM and bring a second CAM. I'm not too sold on Lemina but I guess we could keep him as well, but I'd prefer to get a DM with a nice foot, like Marchisio, or maybe even try to get Tielemans.
I'm not giving any names 'cause I don't wanna sound too unrealistic
but obviously I hope we don't aim for scrubs.

yep. Berardi could prove to fit that role perfectly. id also like us to sign a player that can play AM, replace Marchisio from time to time and play next to Marchisio when Khedira is injured. someone like Pjanic or Gundogan, but i dont know of many such players available...
