Hernanes wasn't shit at Lazio. we hoped to sign that Hernanes. Unfortunately we got Inter Hernanes. Sorry but Mata of the last couple of years isn't immensely better than anyone, really, plus he always had the laziness of a sloth to add to his downsides, not only slow like Hernanes, he's l-a-z-y.

No, it would be a mistake because he wouldn't add the work rate we require. At least that's what I get from Allegri's Juve where even the CF is required to track back and help. So one was an honest mistake, Mata would be a knowingly one.
Is more work rate what this team lacks though? We got that out the butthole but still you feel something is missing at times, I'd think a killer final pass, bit of magic that our other candidates for AM lack is really what this team needs

im curios, is it the style of player you don't like or you just think Mata in particular isn't good enough?

Yes, many have. We have many examples in our own team, sure. Personally don't believe it's his case. Simply isn't his style or is in his DNA to play for this type of club, in Italy. Which doesn't completely neutralize the possibility he might find his form again, but sill believe he will fit better somewhere else... probably back in Spain.

Problem is after a while I have no doubt in my mind we'll start getting annoyed by his lack of willingness to run after a ball, track back or even do anything more than just jog about. I have a feeling Allegri wants more than just a good passer for his TQ role.

Don't get me wrong, Kyle. I want that skilled Trequartista too. The one with the vision and skill set. I'd love nothing but that.

BUT in my eyes at least, what he can't be is lazy. And I'm not talking about just tracking back, that's the least of my worries. A AM is by definition an offensive player and somewhat responsible for everything going forward, so I know it's not in his role to be defensive.

What makes my blood boil is seeing carelessness, laziness... Being uninterested in the game as it's happening, Not bleeding for the team? something Mata is full of. Morata sometimes is like this and it frustrates the hell out of me. That's simply not Juventus material. So you could say it's his personality in the pitch and a bit of his turtle like style as well. I thought Mourinho had excellent reason to sell his ass, that Portuguese is a douchebag but he's a fighter and he likes fighters.

He's a good passer and is... was an intelligent player that with a rebuilt confidence can be a strong asset to maybe any team, but like I said, not the profile I'd look for in a player for a club like us and a team like ours.

I hope by 15m you guy at least mean 15m pounds because 11.5m pounds (15m euro) would be purty funny for Mata. 15m pounds would be too.

Not the type of AM we need. We've build the team around him (someone who isn't WC), and he'd slow us down, He'd do well in Serie A, but he'd hurt more than help in the CL. I like him better than Oscar though who's a completely useless AM.

Need someone better than the Matas and the Oscars. We might not be able to sign a ready-made WC AM, but we can sign one with WC potential.

About what? He was extremely inconsistent. He disappeared half of each season. Can quote you posts where even if he was most important Lazio fans were fine with selling him exactly because of his jekyll and and Hyde routine every season.

There is a certain point that's reached you ignore a post. That Zidane (who needed the 3 man midfield behind him at all times) was doing enough defensive work being a clear sign to just move along.
