I was the first one to lose my mind over the limitation of the old 3-5-2 in Europe, it looked like cancer at times. And that was for two reasons
1. We had a bunch of really, really technically piss poor to average strikers. Vucinic was the exception but he could not deliver enough goals at all. They were so isolated in big games, and could never make something out of nothing in a Million years against the likes of Bayern
2. We played through our wing backs so much, especially lichtsteiner. End result we constantly had a defensive minded technically bog standard full back up in the oppositions box. He couldn't cross, he couldn't take his man on and he never had a burst of pace or some tricks up his sleeve.
Whilst other teams were looking at the likes of Robben and Bale to make a difference in that area. We had our 30 year old right back.
Sub Matri-Quags/Vucinic for Dybala - Higuain
And add in A.S and Alves you have a 3-5-2 that is not limited by shit strikers or players playing way too forward for their own good.
It's not like we can't switch to something else with the bench players we have, if we need to.
