My bad. I guess you were so out of it you already forgot, even tho it was just few days ago.

You essentially mentionned our whole midfield except Asamoah and Pereyra, as players who had bigger impact and better performances in big CL games or big games in general, then Pogba. It's impressive you already repressed the memory of name dropping Hernanes to that insane post.

I dropped Hernanes name cause everyone is acting like his trash, as did i for most of the season, but when we played bayern return leg, he didnt fell trough. He stood his ground and had quite a good game. He grew as the season went on and i'm considering i judged too quickly.

I never claimed Hernanes was better then Pogba. We lose quality when Pogba is gone. And alot of potential. But people overdramatise when it comes to how much we lose.

Pjanic+Khedira is a goddamn great midfield. Wich marchisio back, the overall team has vastly improved cause of Higuain and Alves, with much more depth.

What without Marchisio or when we lose Khedira ?

This is the tricky part. its backing up Pjanic. Hernanes and Sturaro, is obviously not that great, but it'll do, its compensated elsewhere.

if we somehow get Matic, Hernanes can get sold.

People act like Hernanes is much worse then he gradually became. Thats about it.

Offcourse, part of me hopes Pogba staying is legit, but reason stamps it down

Based on last years performance Higuain is the best player on the current roster. He was the best $@?$in player in Serie A. You can't deny that! It has NOTHING to do with salary or transfer fee but current form. Will he maintain that form? Who knows but i hope so.

He was miles ahead of what Pogba contributed to us last season. He just had the season of his life scoring one goal per game in a defensive league. The underrating of Higuain is hilarious.

Even in the Serie A thread, I called Higuain by far the best player in the league last season but I got mocked for praising a Napoli player and being objective.

I maintain, again, what we lose with Pogba is potential but with the signings we've made so far, we don't lose much at all if not anything at least for the present.

even if Paul goes on paper our team looks stronger imo. With Alves-Sandro on the wings, Dybala-Higuain upfront and Pjanic below them we should not have difficulties in attack. If Paul stays – we become juggernaut.

Even without Pogba, we have a strong midfield IF everyone is fit and available. Khedira, Pjanic, Marchisio, Asamoah, Sturaro, Lemina are all very solid players with Pjaca potentially used as a trequartista as well. The problem is Marchisio, Asamoah and Khedira are all likely to be available for <50% of the season. Meaning our only reliable options are Pjanic, Sturaro and Lemina. Hernanes and Pereyra are assumed to be on their way. All of a suddent the midfield is not that strong.

Keeping Pogba would mean that the 3rd midfielder can be alternated between that long list. At the moment, it just Pjanic + a combination of whoever is fit.

If Khedira and Asamoah can somehow shrug off their injury fragility, I would still feel pretty happy about our existing midfield.

We should get Oscar and a DM of good talent just to cover marchisio for now.

Khedira - Marchisio - Pjanic
------------Oscar

Sturaro/Lemina - Witsel - Asamoah
--------------------Pjaca

I think Oscar is not worth the price he would be going for, might as well give Pjaca the chance. Pjaca has a lot of potential, bringing in oscar so pjaca can sit on the bench is not a good idea imo.

Pjaca is still a gamble, oscar can revive his WC qualities here. better have both than just one

I don't think we'll play 4312 that often and Pjanic can also play there if necessary, so I'd rather get a good CM over Oscar + talentful player for marchisio cover. Bazoer.

Bazoer screams poor man's Pogba in box to box style and similar approach of physique and skill. Might we worth a gamble even if he is nowhere near him.

Is there a 19 year old player that is better or has more potential than him as a poor man's Pogba tho?

As poor man's Pogba, doubt it.

But in general that age bracket, I'm most intrigued by Tielemans, screams future great.

True. Him or Bazoer + experienced DM would be best case scenario for Pogba replacement I think.
