@Rollie
If we get all those players we are certainly selling someone. We'd have enough mids to take over Moscow, so I can't see them too happy with their playing time either.
Yeah, I'm not sure who we'd sell. Morata if Madrid takes their option, other than that, I don't see us selling any of the forwards or defence we currently have. Either newly acquired and doing fairly well, or too important to the future.
Would love to see Hernanes go, think Padoin should be sold (even though he just signed a new deal), but it's just too hard to tell what management will want to do.
Also important to remember the homegrown quota increase, so there's another space or two there they'll have to figure out. Some tough choices ahead.
Call me crazy but I`m not that keen on Cuadrado..
I think he is an on and off player - his ball control and speed is an asset but he is too brainless of a player!
Depends on our formation for next season and depends on our ability to get our targets we should consider purchase him or let him go!
Vrsljko - I`m very impressed by this player - Should definitely get him and I also dont expect him to cost too much..
CM - Still to be decided but we definitely need to get someone of great quality there
AM - Depends on formation
CF - I really hope we get someone great and prolific
As for the guy who said Pereyra is better than Salah - Stop being so biased! look at both of the players and then say who is better!
Stats alone should give you a clue
I don't think you're crazy about Cuadrado. In fact, I've gone back and forth on the guy a couple times. Was initially quite happy when he arrived --> then thought he would be surplus because of our setup, and too expensive given how Max would use him --> then thought he was playing pretty effectively in that RWB role, and the market went bananas in the winter with all that Chinese money... so I figured we'd sign him, and it would probably be the right call. I generally like the guy's attitude, and think he works hard, but he really lacks end product. It's going to be an interesting negotiation, but I don't think we'll get too much of a discount. I guess we'll see.
I think we need a RB for the future, a CM who can effectively distribute, a backup SS, and, if I had my way, a CAM so that Allegri has the resources he needs for his preferred tactics (which also generally suit our personnel).
That would be a terrible market for me. Licht, Cuadrado and a new very good right wingback seems like overkill for me. I'd take Cuadrado only if Chelsea give us a huge discount. Otherwise go for Van Der Weil or some other RB/RWB on the cheap.
Similarly Lemina needs to do more (and doesn't seem to have the time) to warrant us spending 10 mill on him. We should be going for a 1st team material CM that can deputize for Marchisio and play next to him when Khedira is not in shape. If we do that we would have that new player or Khedira as our first sub and we already have a very reliable player in sturaro as another sub. Asamoah should return too. I'd keep Lemina only if Asa is confirmed to be broken and in that case he should be able to make us 10 mills. Pogba, marchisio, new top CM, Khedira, Sturaro and one of Asa/Lemina is more than enough.
I doubt anyone would go over 25 mill for berardi given this season's performances. In any case there are other SSs we could get to deputize for dybala like Ljajic and shouldnt cost much. The option on him is 11 mill and inter is broke and he has a bad relationship with Mancini. If morata goes then we could get Berardi and still have 10 mill to spare.
But supposing the transfers you listed are made I think we would still have money for more. 55 mill is a big number but there is probably outgoing players as well. We are set in attack and berardi would come only if morata goes (I am speculating ofc) and that leaves us with an extra 10 mill. Lemina will stay if Asa goes and so that at worst should make us break even. I doubt we will get a 3rd RWB on top of cuadrado and Licht and if we do it will be someone really cheap or free. So in the end you could be looking at -20 mill net after buying Cuadrado and another full back. If our budget is around a 50 mill then there is still money for another AM.
It does lack the appeal of bringing in some more established attackers, or stud CM
Yeah, I get the overkill element on that right side. If we do go for another player over there, hopefully he'll be more RB than RWB. I want that tactical flexibility for Europe, and I think next year we might see Lichtsteiner's play really start to drop off (he's been in decline for a over a season already). Might be prudent to secure his successor before that happens. All depends on Cuads situation.
Likewise, I need to see more of Lemina. I've seen all of his games for us so far, but that's a small sample size, and obviously the injury issues make me nervous about him. He flashes at times, but still hard to say if he's good enough in the longer term, or if he does turn out to be good enough eventually, how long will that take?
I'm of the mindset that we should also be looking for a 1st choice CM. Our strength was our midfield, and right now there are just too many questions marks, too many games lost to injury. We need somebody who can distribute, but hopefully the incoming player won't be too soft, because we could use a bit more steel in there, too. Need a nicely rounded player. I generally think that, whenever possible, most purchases the club makes should be targeting an improvement to the first team (which also boosts our depth, unless the incumbent wants out). I like that midfield you're projecting.
I also doubt anyone will be throwing down more than 25M for Berardi. Ljacić is a very talented guy, but so inconsistent, and I do worry about his mentality. I don't think I'd target him for that reason, I think ego/focus will be an issue. I also don't think Inter can afford to let him go at this point, as little quality as they have up front. Will be interesting to see how they finish up, but if I were Thohir, I'd fire Mancini at the end of the season (I really don't like the guy, ever since his implosion after the Liverpool CL debacle. Just don't think he's a leader).
I know you're not huge on Morata, but I'm not ready to give up on the guy yet, so that complicates those financial predictions. So many questions, hopefully the group will provide some answers through their performances the rest of the way (particularly Lemina and Cuadrado).
