are there any strong Gotze links or is this a wish list kind of thing?

Also for the guys that are calculating transfer fees, you have to take wages into account. Gotze would get 4-5 mill in wages per year which is nothing small.

Assuming our midfield will be Pjanic, Pogba, Marchisio, Khedira, Stururururu, Lemina, Asamoah we would have to get rid of Pereyra, Hernanes, Cuadrado, Cacares and Padoin, which is no easy feat. We would be cutting 1.5 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 0.8 which is -10.3 mill in wages.

Adding Pjanic at 4.7 + Alves at 4? + Berardi at 2? is about 10 mill in new wages. Gotze would be an extra 4-5 mill in wages. Madragora and the likes will probably have a negligible wage. But we are supposedly talking about Ben Atia too which is an additional yearly 3-4 mill. Say we get some less known player for 2 mill then we are talking about a 12 mill hike assuming all deadwood is sold.

I honestly dont know if we can sell off all the deadwood in the first place to cut 10.3 mill to even begin to add an extra 12 mill to our wage bill. For some perspective, we were paying 100 mill in 2011/12 (first scudetto season) and have since then added only 24 mill over the 5 years since then so 12 extra mill is not a small increase to undergo in one season (12 mill supposing all deadwood is sold). Thats half the hike we took after 5 years of growing and winning.

I agree we should take wages into account. Problem is its hard to remember what everyone is getting paid (and in a lot of cases its not disclosed).

Problem with Gotze is that he would not be a guaranteed starter for us. Once Marchisio returns, our starting midfield is likely to be Khedira, Marchisio, Pogba, Pjanic if we go with a back 4 and in a back three only 3 of those 4 would start. He could be used as a support striker but once again, Dybala is first choice there too.

So he would need to take a bit of a cut in salary which may not be possible.

Cuardado and Caceres are alredy gonne, so that leaves just Hernanes and Pereyra and Pado, all of which reportedly have suitors.

Honestly, along with Alves and a new striker if Morata leaves, I'd close to mercato there. Perhaps take Benatia if we can get him on a loan with option to buy.
Would definitely add Benatia to the list, coz he's a unique opportunity. He will find his best with us again, and would allow for the transition from Barzagli a lot better, with himself and Rugani adding to the ageing Chiellini and the relatively younger Bonnucci. Even though neither Bonucci or Benatia are young in terms of age, I think they're at the right age for a CB.

I don't think it'll be too hard to sort something out with Bayern either. Maybe halve the remaining €21m or so they will have to owe for their eventual purchase of Coman.

Coman goetze swap?
Coman has impressed me mightly in the last games for France, he's gotten so confident on the ball. I thought he only relied on pace when going past defenders, but he's so good in tight spaces, almost impossible to take the ball off. Honestly, it might sound crazy, but Goetze in his final year of a contract is worth less than Coman. And Coman is not injury-prone either.

I don't think that is crazy at all. Goetze isn't a player Juve should be dreaming of, it should be the other way round.

Wednesday it will be the crucial day about Morata and other business with Real....

It would appear RM prepared to offer Morata+Kroos+Kovacic for Pogba....

I have a feeling that Beppe will answer: throw in another 20 and we can talk about it ....
