I don't buy any of the Pogba rumors as of now. Even if the Kroos + 120 million rumor is true (which I highly doubt) that is about a 150-160 million euro deal. That would shatter the current record by about 60 million euros. Even clubs like Real would be hesitant to pay that much. And I also believe the club when they say Pogba is not on the market for any price. If you recall part of the Allegri renewal was the promise to keep players like Pogba.
Its not the rumors that scare me.. Its the fact we are signing Pjanic and are still linked to players like Gotze... We usually dont buy like that.. I remember us signing 3 WC players in 1 mercato - It was the summer we sold Zidane and went to buy Thuram Buffon and Nedved. I also remember when we signed Dybala and were linked to great players and we all thought it is going to be a great mercato but then we lost Pirlo Vidal and Tevez!

What I`m trying to say is I hope this bright future we are seeing wont end like those summers (even if the first one got us to be a much better side eventually...)
Pjanic and Gotze instead of Pogba doesnt mean we are weakened as they are both great players and we might even become stronger BUT Pjanic Gotze AND Pogba will be something extraordinary!

Atfer the confirmation for Dani Alves and Pjanic signings there's only one key puzzle piece left: a clinical finisher, someone who can score 7-8-9 goals in CL. Benatia on loan, Kovacic on loan, maybe Goetze too are all quality signings but they are depth quality signings. Buying this much will mean Morata will leave as here are a number or clubs preparing 50-60+ millions for him. I don't think we'll sell Pogba, just Morata. Who can be a better striker for us? I really hope we won't get someone like Batshuayi, Lacazette or Embolo...we need someone more proven. If we can the right guy, we can go for CL. Who can that guy be?

Well, i think we should wait what happens in the meeting with Real before thinking beforehand that Juve want to sell.

I dont think is good for the club tos how willingness to replace morata before we hace a clear idea of what we can do with real madruid,.

If we can get Gotze and keep Morata (and Pogba) it would be a dream mercato!
If we get Gotze and lose Morata but sign a great finisher while keeping Pogba I would say we are second in quality only to Barca and probably become favorites to the CL (along with Barca)
Just imagine:

Dybala Morata/Finisher
Gotze
Pogba Pjanic
Marchisio
Sandro Chiellini Bonucci Alves

We all like Morata but the truth is with a great finisher this lineup will probably be stronger even if he is not as skillful as Morata so:
Cavani is definitely the strongest as he is an overall upgrade over Morata
Lukaku is probably not as good as Morata overall but when it comes to finishing it is a no contest.. Just check his stats...

This mercato is really interesting although I doubt we will strengthen ourselves like that it doesnt seem like something that is typical to us!
With that formation, we are weaker defensively.

Man, before the only piece left was to sign trequertista.
Now, we get it and we still have another piece left to compete in CL?
We can not have all.

I share your concern.

Although, it is possible that we could afford a player like Gotze & Lukaku without selling Pogba but it would require solid execuation on sales of players like Asamoah, Pereyra, Hernanes and Zaza.

So for example:

IN: Alves (0), Pjanic (31m), Mascherano? (22m?), Benatia (loan + option), Gotze 35m?, Lukaku 45m?, Lemina 9.5m, Mirante 2m, Berardi 25m = 170m
OUT: Cuadrado & Caceres (om), Asamoah (10m), Pereyra (14m), Hernanes (7m), Morata (30m), Zaza (25m), Neto (8m), Isla & Coman 2nd install (7m) = 101m

Net would be 70m - which is a bit of a stretch but not unheard of. I suspect though that Gotze would be part of a Coman exchange with would effectively reduce that net from 70m to around 50m as we are due to receive 20m for Coman the following year.

Still, in order for that to work, Marotta has a hell of a lot of work to do in making sure he can raise the funds through the sale of all of those players.

I have no idea what he is really worth - I was deliberately inflating his price to prove a point that it is possible to afford these players without selling Pogba. I agree that 35m for Gotze is questionable.

Gotze is worth 30m come on Zaza cost 25 didn't he??
We paid 18 for Zaza. As for what loaded EPL teams are ready to pay for Zaza, I don't see that as a good estimation of his real value. Would you pay 25-30 million euros for Zaza? Hell no.

We shouldn't spend 35 million euros only because EPL teams are ready dish that amount for a big gamble, the guy hasn't done anything in years and looks like shit right now.
