I think Marotta will continue the policy of acquiring young talent. There are so many talented midfielders around we could go for who might actually be attainable.
There are some raw talents like Tielesman, Dahoud and Bazoer then there are some more established options like Joao Mario and Goretzka or maybe we will make our customary Udinese signing in form of Bruno Fernandes.
That's for sure. If anybody had any hopes for a loud mercato with big name(s) then the financial report that just came out clarifies it well enough IMO. We improved our revenue once again and we're like 30m+ but we also spent huge money last Summer which even increased our debt by 10m if I'm not mistaken. Many instalments are to be paid so I wouldn't expect any fireworks tbh. The wet work aka big spending is already done, only adjustments are to be done.
Even if we drop out of CL against Bayern but win Serie A and/or coppa then our management will be reassured they took the right path, so there will be nothing but to continue. I expect young players from Serie A to be signed, simply Beppe's classic mercato. Beppe has the Homegrown rule on his mind too. Overall I expect most of our signigs to be Italians tbh. Saponara, Berardi, Matiello(HG), Marrone (HG), Vrsalijko, Cuadrado - those are the names.
The good thing is we're very likely to be able to hold on our best players, only Morata is in doubt it seems.
