I would defenitely take Isco instead.
No way. Pjanic sets us up in two positions instead of one and is already more experienced and making very high numbers of goals and assists.

Pjanic would also give us life after Pogba in the 3-5-2

Yeah obviously, and should be much easier to get, but we struggle to get the little genuine quality there is in Italy even when they have a release clause, Linda ridicolous if we fail with this one.
I wouldnt necessarily think Isco is more expensive. He has not been setting the world on fore or anything. He has been a sub player for years doing okay and was not even selected for the Euros. His value should have heavily decreased by now.

Isco sounds like a flair and fancy over substance, high potential for flopping kinda player
Isco is the closest thing you'll find to flair and fancy among top Spanish players but I don't think he is lolzillian level flair and fancy. He has efficient short passing and quick decisions. Maybe his finishing leaves something to be desired though.

Efficient and isco in the same phrase

Isco is the guy that dribbels 2 players and crashes into the third, while there was an easy passing option. This while beeing a rather good passer.

Efficient short passing meaning he doesn't give it away when he passes (typical Spanish style). Which is what you seem to agree with.

Yes of course, he over-dribbles sometimes. But he can also break through the midfield line with his dribbling too.

With his talent and age, I'm not sure we're in a position to turn him down if he comes as a "market opportunity".

Main difference I see between Pjanic and Isco is the freekicks where Pjanic elevated it to match winner level. But the rest the level of skill and playmaker abilities is pretty similar (edge to Isco on dribbling and speed), difference being one plays in Roma and gets to express himself as a regular starter as the teams main creator compared to being one of many in Real. Pjanic would suffer the same and be in the fringes when your competition are Modric, Kroos, James etc.

Different styles!
Pjanic is more effective for now but Isco is the type of playmaker that can lift the whole team! Pjanic is a different kind of player he is a great player a team player but not one who lifts the whole team by himself!
For now Pjanic has proved more but potentially Isco has a much higher ceiling!

I also vote for Pjanic over Isco. Isco strikes me as still not the finished article and I think there are more uncertainties with him - not that I would complain if we signed him. But Pjanic has a lot of great qualities. He can be a gritty midfielder, scores goals regularly, joint leader in assists this season with Pogba, and can be deadly from dead ball situations. In a 352, I see him in Khedira's position. Having someone like Mascherano or Marchisio in the centre with Pjanic and Pogba as box to box would be truly deadly. Pjanic is also the Allegri style of trequartista - with a back 4, I would see a mid with Khedira, Mascherano/Marchisio, Pogba behind Pjanic and the 2 strikers.

The Morata buy out clause (as far as I am aware) is a 30m lump sum payment. That would enable us to foot the lump sum payment for Pjanic's buyout of 38m. And Pjanic is still 26 and is probably a few years away from his peak.

The difference that should be highlighted is that Pjanic is not a genuine AM. Isco is just that. If we're looking for a pure AM there's no chosing between the two.

Kind of agree. Although, knowing Allegri, he tends to like AMs who are more industrious (ex CMs).
That is true as well. It all depends on what we're looking for. But unlike Milan at the time with Pirlo, this team screams for a true playmaker imo.

I'd take Andre Gomes' style over Isco's at AM to be honest. More robust without losing the playmaking.

Real Madrid do not want to sell
James Rodriguez. If he wants to
leave, the offer will have to be of
€80m or more. [COPE]
