The Football Association have asked Fifa to stop Adrian Mutu training with his new club Juventus.

Mutu, sacked by Chelsea for drug use in October, was handed a worldwide ban of seven months.

However, a loophole in international football law means Mutu is allowed to train with clubs outside England - where he received his initial ban.

The Romanian has since signed for Juventus and will be eligible to play at the end of May.

The FA are now hoping Fifa will ban Mutu from all 'football-related' activities until his seven-month suspension finishes.

Nicole, can you explain why the English FA is still witch hunting this poor boy? Can't those s**t heads rest?

I have been a Juve fan since 1984, so please don't call me glory hunting or short sighted.
The fact remains that there is a loop hole that allows the man to train, and it is purely vindictive to try and stifle his career by putting him in cryogenics for such and such a period.

I take exception to the use of obscenities. Please refrain or I'll lash back at you and you wouldn't like it.

lol lol lol.

Your supposed to say like, the fact is its perfectly legal for him to train. NOT the fact is we found a legal loophole which screws you all anally and so he can train.

hehe thanks alot. You made me smile.

I am no Lawyer, so I don't use legal terms. But my little knowledge of the Law tells me that once there's a loop hole that can be exploited, the action becomes perfectly legal.

OJ Simpson got away because of a loop hole.

SO, IT IS LEGAL FOR ADRIAN MUTU TO TRAIN WITH HIS NEW CLUB!

Tuesday saw the implosion of *cough* ‘the greatest team ever’ (copyright 2003-2004) Arsenal. Perhaps damned by premature deification by the media, Arsenal have failed consistently in the champions League and are yet to win titles back-to-back. A sound 4-2 thrashing by a defiant Manchester United team at home not only put to an end their title challenge and saw them slip to third place in the table, but reduced their Adidas-Predator-wrapped-feet to those of clay.
Though Wenger has used the psychological trickery of applauding his team’s ‘mental strength’, the players themselves clearly remain unconvinced.
Arsenal play ethereally fluid football when the going is good, but when it isn’t, Wenger loses it and tightens the defences, and his players sulk, niggle and dive.
Arsenal just does not have the mentality to win the Champions League. When they play against good teams in Europe who deny them space and have good defenses, their fast paced play no longer works, and they have to rely on creativity and smart conservative build up. Arsenal does not have this mentality, and combined with their defense they might as well just concentrate on titles in England. Hell, I think even Wanger knows that.

That is something you should be thankful for. :D

Most people think that Wright-Philips is better than Beckham nowadays, I agree. But watch what that silly fellow Goran will do when the English play the Dutch!

That's not really hypocritical. Of course I wouldn't give a damn if he was playing for any other team, but I'd still think it was unfair.

Now that it concerns my team though, it's a natural reaction to be annoyed about it. You can't really call a parent a hypocrite if they turn a blind eye to the mishaps of other people's children, but of course they're going to stand up, speak up if something happens to their own child.

Chelsea's away win at Blackburn saw them extend their lead at the top of the table to a commanding 11 points.

In what may be looked back on as the week that Mourinho's men all but clinched the title, Arsenal lost to Manchester United in what in what was dubbed a title eliminator.

Arsenal's 4-2 defeat to their bitter rivals was a crushing blow. They now trail their London rivals by 13 points with boss Arsene Wenger admitting their grip on the title has gone.

Despite being buoyed by victory at Highbury, second-placed United are still well off the pace in their bid to seal a ninth Premiership title.

But can we predict who will win the title as early as in February? Can any of the teams beat Mourinho's men?

For Arsenal and United fans this is not unchartered territory as both have claimed unlikely comebacks in previous title races.

In 1996, Newcastle lost a 12-point lead, prompting a famous outburst from Toon boss Kevin Keegan as Sir Alex Ferguson's United's ground out an unlikely title triumph.

But it has not all been roses for United. Having won back-to-back titles in 1996 and 1997, they were hot favourites to retain their crown in 1998.

What the bookies didn't predict was that new Arsenal manager Wenger would threaten United's grip at the top.

Despite some bookies paying out that March on bets that United would win the title, Arsenal overcame a 12-point deficit to bring the championship trophy back to Highbury for the first time in seven years.

More recently, in 2002 the Gunners kicked-off the season with a surge of entertaining football that had the Highbury faithful dreaming of more silverware.

But a familiar face ended their 30-game unbeaten run that October, as they took on Everton. A young Wayne Rooney, now a striker at United, cast an early blow to their title hopes.

The Gunners' campaign continued to falter, while United put together a storming run, winning eight of their last nine league games. Arsenal's embarrassing home defeat to Leeds let Manchester United in through the back door.

This season, Arsenal's impressive 49-match unbeaten Premiership run was ended by United at Old Trafford.

Since the defeat, Arsenal have slipped away from runaway leaders Chelsea and have suffered three further losses.

Whether either side can mount a serious challenge to prevent Mourinho's men from sealing Chelsea's first League title since 1955 remains to be seen.
