Premiership Round-Up
by Adam Marshall - Last Updated 11 Sep 2004

Arsenal look unstoppable at the top of the table as they overcame a controversial first half to put Fulham to the sword at Craven Cottage.

The Gunners survived a penalty scare when Ashley Cole and Andy Cole clashed and also saw Collins John have a goal mysteriously ruled out by referee Mark Halsey but their class told after the break.

Freddie Ljungberg claimed a brace, although the second was later debited to Zat Knight, and Jose Antonio Reyes came off the bench to maintain his goal-a-game record in a 3-0 triumph.

Manchester United drew 2-2 at Bolton Wanderers in dramatic circumstances.

Gabriel Heinze netted on his debut to give United a first half lead but they were undone after the break with Kevin Nolan and Les Ferdinand on the scoresheet.

Ferdinand's first goal for Wanderers, in the 90th minute, came after a dreadful mix-up between Tim Howard and Mikael Silvestre but United replied when the ball entered the net via David Bellion following an Alan Smith header.

Liverpool cruised past West Brom 3-0 with Steven Gerrard opening the scoring after a neat move. Steve Finnan doubled the lead following a fine pass from John Arne Riise and Sergio Garcia opened his Anfield account with a third when profiting from the rebound to a Russell Hoult save.

Newcastle United crushed poor Blackburn Rovers 3-0 with a Garry Flitcroft own goal setting the home side on their way with Graeme Souness waiting to take over his new club.

Alan Shearer headed a second and Andy O'Brien clinched a comfortable success for The Magpies.

Middlesbrough overcame Birmingham City 2-1 courtesy of a double strike by Mark Viduka. Emile Heskey, a former Boro target, notched the visitors' goal but it was not enough.

Tim Cahill scored but was then shown his second yellow card for celebrating but Everton held on to record a notable away win at Manchester City.

Aston Villa and Chelsea drew 0-0 with Didier Drogba unlucky to be booked rather than earn a penalty with only ten minutes remaining.

He's been starting alot as of late and doing quite well too, but I see that changing when Duff and Robben return.
Hopefully Joe can hold his place in the team. Hes as talented as Duff and Robben IMO and really needs some playing time.

Man Utd are up shit creek :D Arsenal are simply fantastic
