I think what people dislike, is the thought that Can could be our only "big" addition for the midfield. They don't dislike the player per se.

At least that's how i feel about him. If he's only depth option, fine, but if he's the star CM (Not too unlikely looking at his wages), then it's underwhelming.
What star midifelder are we gonna get? We get freebies, rising talents and top team tthroaways.

Yeah, let's get more forwards and keep neglecting our midfield :baus:
Its like Marotta became Moratti, who used to buy star attackers only and said to hell with midfielders.

Actually midfield does. As great as Messi and Ronaldo are, and they are insane, Messi and Barca stopped dominating CL full time as soon as their midfield became mediocre and neglected. Only exception being 2015 title, that was ran by the the insane attacking trio, but their midfield was still fantastic, just more direct.

And Real had by far the best midfield in Europe since they bought Kroos and gelled into a technical giant in middle of the park. And it just happend to coincidence with massive CL success?

Obviously you are right. I was just being sarcastic about this idea that was popular on tuZ not so long ago.

Revealed: When Emre Can's Juve move will be official

04 May at 09:05
Emre Can's move to Juventus has for long been reported about in media, with the deal getting closer and closer to a successful ending.

In fact, as learned by IlBianconero.com, Emre Can is set to sign his contract with the Turin side after the Champions League final. as stated by the same source, the contract is valued at €6m per year, while it will keep the German International in the club until 2023. Can's contract expires this summer and will, therefore, join Juventus on a free deal.

His current employers, Liverpool, will play the Champions League final against Real Madrid at the end of May, after knocking out Roma in the semi-finals. Can, on the other hand, will miss the game as he's suffering from a back injury, with his return being unknown.

The German will certainly be a great signing for the Bianconeri, especially since there's no transfer fee involved.

I am.

Our first freebie CM we signed turned out to be WC. We were told he was washed up. Our 2nd freebie CM we signed was a "Real Madrid reject" and he turned out to be a great signing. You could almost say Pogba too but we paid like 500k or something like that. Judging by our record on free CM's, I think we can have reason to be optimistic.

'Juve wrong to target Emre Can’
By Football Italia staff

Juventus are wrong to target Liverpool midfielder Emre Can and should go for Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic instead, according to Gianluca Vialli.

Emre Can is reportedly all set to join Juve this summer, but Vialli - who scored over 50 goals for the Bianconeri between 1992 and 1996, winning their last Champions League – believes they would be better off keeping Sami Khedira and pursuing Rakitic.

“Emre Can doesn’t fully convince me for Juve, he doesn’t set my pulses racing,” the former Chelsea and Italy striker told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m not convinced that he’d do better than Khedira because he’s not the perfect fit, in my opinion.

“Juve need to strengthen their midfield, but Rakitic would be better than Emre Can.”
