I think we are going to miss out on him and really regret it.

Hard to fault our management though if we start looking elsewhere when he wont commit before end of season. Big risk to rely on him then find out in june he doesnt even want juve

We can’t look elsewhere until the end of season because we can’t approach anyone directly since they are in a contact. So in essence it’s really no different. It’s annoying for the club because he seems to be looking for a money grab to the highest bidders. He is certainly inviting them.

I thought we could do that if there is less than six months left on contract? I'm pretty sure they can't stand in Can's way right now.

No we CAN talk to him directly that’s why we are doing it now...because he has less than 6 months left. I’m talking about everyone else that isn’t in that situation...we have to move through different channels (talking to the club first). We can’t do that until after the season because no one will listen.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Sure, we can't go behind a club's back and approach a player (who is on longer than six months) but I really doubt we just aren't talking to anyone. I'm sure clubs get permission from each other and approach players behind the scenes, and without waiting until a transfer window is open. Particularly with all the good relations we are fostering with other teams, particularly smaller Serie A clubs letting them have players on loan, on the cheap, and, very occasionally, overpaying to get a former player of ours back :)beppe:)

We also seem particularly keen to have a plan and wrap up deals as early as possible in transfer windows.

Could be.

Did sound from those quotes today or yesterday that he's still pretty undecided. Obviously the comment about the Premier league suggests he wouldn't mind staying (possibly at Liverpool, or in the BPL).
Sounds a bit like he is waiting for bigger offers to arrive (gold digger)

Another example of why Allegri is clueless, why would we need this guy or this type of strong/physical midfielder when the likes of Xavi or Pirlo were also great midfielders without necessarily being tall or physical, no reason to bing him here other than another clueless bargain decision prepared by Max pfffff

Calma. You don’t have to read all my posts as you clearly do. You can always ignore me if my opinion hurts you this much.

Does anyone know the wheels behind this operation? Who is his agent, who else is he representing and etc...

If he is shopping for the highest bidder we wouldn't be there. Weak midfield or not. The only reason we have to stay in the race with other clubs (esp. Bayern, Real M, PSG) is so Emre can get at least another 10-15 mils over his next contract. We aren't a charity organization either so there must be some backhanded goal. Another midfielder goes for sale? Could Can go to Manchester United at the end?

The last thing I would believe is the face value of the story. Beppe has offered an 'economically' viable solution of 5mil and 1 euros yearly salary and his agent is checking if someone can directly double that. Even :beppe: knows its pointless to keep his hat in this ring.

Relax pal, i'm on your side now. ;)

Please, continue lecturing us on tactics and how to manage a team, do not let yourself be bothered by my humble intervention. Keep it coming.

“The Premier League has the power to spend more money on players than the Bundesliga. This is very, very important for players.

“I’m doing great in England. The Spanish league is also attractive.

“The same applies to Germany, where tactics are concerned, and the Italian club football, which has recently caught up.

“I do not want to exclude anything because I do not know what I will do from the summer.”

In Translation :

"Man City can offer me a lot of money. This is very important for me. I'm doing great in England already.

Real Madrid are also attractive where i can be a handy bench player for them. The same applies to Bayern who are keeping the bench warm for players like me.

Juventus also has recently caught up with my wage and game-time demands. I do not want to exclude anything because i know i'll be laughing my way to the bank this summer."

Dont even have to read the whole quote...the first sentence says it already - "money"
