He is free and should be a good first sub CM, but the problem is Beppe might see it otherwise and mercato chiuso that shit with Can planned as actual starter
:agree:

*Can = star midfielder
*Random buy out clause italian for €25m for the bench.

Mercato chiuso.
But that's not an argument against signing Can, that's an argument against how Beppe does business.

Can will be a great signing. Anyone against it is an idiot.
Great signing, I agree, because he's for free, but not a great player.

A great signing for an good depth.

As @lgorTudor said, it's sad we have to cheer about okayish players like Can nowadays. 4 years ago he would have been midfielder nr. 5 in our team. Now he might be 2nd behind Pjanic and that's frustrating somehow.

once you've run down a worldclass midfield to dogshit levels, a mediocre player signing rightfully appears as an improvement :beppe:

I don't mind Can either since he's free. But we're giving him top level wages (€5M a season) which means we certainly see him as a starter and to go from Khedira to Can is incredibly underwhelming tbh. Atleast those Florenzi rumours sounds somewhat promising.

Generally players coming on the free do command higher wages though. We paid Llorente on par with Pirlo and Vidal back then, second only to Buffon I believe.
