IMO they just want to get rid of a player before signing another one.

I highly doubt money is the issue. They'd be ready to overpay if anything.

It's always the way that people are unlikely to pick up on how inconsistent a player is unless they are watching them every other week.

Folk then get a rude shock when a player like Adebayor signs for their team and they realise what he is really like.

According to UK sources and Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport-Stadio, Juventus officials may soon decide to approach Manchester City for Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

However, this appears to be just a ploy orchestrated by Juve's experienced general manager Giuseppe Marotta. In fact, as the search for a new striker continues, his real targets remain Diego Forlan (Atletico Madrid) and Giampaolo Pazzini (Sampdoria). Adebayor may be therefore used as a diversion to make other clubs interested in Forlan and Pazzini believe he is no longer interested in them.

In the meantime, the previously tracked Marco Borriello (AC Milan), Alessandro Matri (Cagliari) and Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg) are no longer in Juve's plans since they are not for sale this year.

He's extremely inconsistent, i never rated him, not even when he scored 25 league goals, he'd be amazing for two months and score two goals per game, then he'd go a whole month missing the easiest of chances.

All in all, his stats were impressive only in one season with us, which was the 2007-2008 season.

Before he showed his true colors at Arsenal he was absolutely adored by the fans, even before his goalscoring exploits, his celebration, his willingness to work hard, and especially his celebrations, i can't stress that enough made him really loved by the fans.
