Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko was the priority in Turin, but with the Germans wanting a cash only €40million deal Juventus have retracted their interest. Luigi Del Neri has decided to keep Diego, who is slowly finding his feet, and file a move for Adebayor.

Mario Balotelli's widely expected move to City has left Roberto Mancini with little room to juggle an array of top strikers at his disposal, and the Togolese hitman has been tipped to leave.

City have given permission for Adebayor to find a new team for next season based on a loan move. The Citizens want between €2-3m for the loan and they will give Juventus the option to buy him at €17m.

However, Juventus are having second thoughts over Adebayor's €5.5m per annum salary.

My best friend plays for the Portland timbers and they played Man C. last weekend in a friendly. He had to mark Vieira and Ade throughout the game...he did say that out of all the players he played against that Vieira is still class, regardless of age but he thought Ade was an absolute beast in the air (impossible to mark on corners) and his first touch was nothing like he has ever seen before. he said you could practically shot the ball straight at Ade as hard as you could and he would still find a way to bring it down and control it.

    My friend lost 3-0

You don't realise how much money he will suck out of the club even on loan.
About 8 millions for a season, and if we want to continue after that, it will be like 10-11 millions for a season based on the length of contract. It's not cheap, but it's cheaper than Dzeko for example, especially this summer when we need a quality forward and 2-3 other players. I'd consider him an option if he's fit and motivated.

Dzeko will bring us goals, which will bring us results, which will bring us money and he's 2 years younger. I don't see us winning something big with Adebayor as the starting striker.

Dzeko won't bring us results if our starting LB will be De Ceglie with Grosso as a sub and LW Pepe with Lanzafame as a sub. Adebayor is a decent and a lot cheaper option.

I'm sorry, but Salvatore wins by a mile.

Shirt sales from Dzeko will make us money as well...(on the smaller side of things)...

Adebayor would arguably sell more shirts than Dzeko if in the end we would buy him, but that's not so important. The thing I'm worried about is that we could be left with peanuts to improve our other areas of team if we sign Dzeko for 35 millions. Of course we may have about 60-70 millions to spend together with sales, but I highly doubt that's the case.

Nobody knows how much money we have. All that has been said is that Marotta is prioritising a right winger, a left back and a center back. If Agnelli wants to dive into future funds or whatever to get Dzeko, then I won't complain.

It's no secret that we want to offload some of our players as well. Zebina and Tiago being the first I can think of, definitely a target striker if we sign Edin.

    Come on man.:sergio:

Ade is good, but Dzeko is class. There is a much bigger difference there.
    Why?

I won't complain either. I would be ok with what we have for mids this year if I know we have a striker that is able to produce on his own when necessary and not have strikers that "need" crosses to only be able to score.

We still have some sales to make...We can easily make another 20-25m on sales to buy 2 of the 3 (LB, LM, RM). It all depends on what Juve are doing. I trust them.

Because he's one of the most popular players in Africa, while Dzeko is hardly a big name.
I didn't think Africa was similar to Asia in the way they buy shirts?

Dzeko would become a much bigger name than Adebayor if he joined Juventus. Sort of like how CRonaldo and Messi shirts will sell almost anywhere in the world no matter what country.

Shirt sales don't depend just on the quality of player, that's what I was trying to say. I wouldn't be so sure Dzeko is the kind of guy who produces everything on his own, last season we already had a sad experience with a star from Bundesliga which was meant to do everything on his own.

Well Africa is a way more bigger market than Bosnia for sure. And you have big faith in Dzeko if you compare him to greatest of these years.

Sweden and Bosnia aren't exactly "markets" but they produced Ibra...Jovetic from Montenegro, I mean you could easily list a lot of players from small markets as you call them that could nearly walk onto any team they want. I'd much rather search Europe than Africa.
