Moggi is not the only one who wants him.

05/06/2004. According to reports, Real Madrid marketing chief Jose Angel Sanchez was in Rome to negotiate the signings of Emerson and Walter Samuel.

He apparently met with Roma's Franco Baldini, to talk to over the prospective deals.

Roma value Emerson at 30 million euros, while his agent Guillem Veloz claims he has an offer from another Italian club.

Meanwhile, reports suggest Samuel is keen to join Real as he wants to team up with Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo and company next season.

He had previously been quoted as saying that he wanted to move to the Premiership.

Hell, Quieroz is not stupid... he knew this way before he signed a contract with Perez.

It is partly his fault because as a coach he should have demanded to buy decent defenders.

Speaking of Chelsea...

Chelsea Make Porto A Blockbuster Offer For Mourinho And 3 Players - Report

05/07/2004. The Portuguese media (ojogo.pt) is reporting that Roman Abramovich has offered FC Porto 70 million Euros as part of a "package deal" that would see manager Jose Mourinho, Deco, Costinha and Paulo FERREIRA all move to Chelsea this summer.

Porto manager Jose Mourinho confirmed that Chelsea have made him an offer that he may be unable to refuse.

"Chelsea are a great club, so of course it interests me, but nothing has been signed or agreed to yet. That would be unfair to Porto," Mourinho told British newspapers on Friday.

"I am still committed to Porto because anything less would mean we would not be ready for the Champions League. We have to be professional," he added.

Pinto Da Costa confirmed to the Portuguese media that Chelsea made an initial offer for midfielder Maniche.

"It all started with Maniche. Chelsea made an offer for him but I kindly reminded them to stop bidding on things that are not for sale," he said.

Maniche is part of a group of four players that president Pinto Da Costa considers indispensable. That list also includes striker Derlei and defenders Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira.

Nonetheless, Abramovich is still trying to lure Paulo Ferreira out of Porto.

This is how Chelsea's latest offer breaks down:

They will pay 10 million euros to buy-out Jose Mourinho's current contract. An additional 25 million euros for Deco, 15 million euros for Paulo Ferreira and 10 million euros for Costinha.

Jose Mourinho is the likeliest to leave and the probability of him bringing over some Porto players to Stamford Bridge is extremely high.
