It's how it is supposed to work but I believe that the coach excuse is just given to cover Marotta's real will.
Sounds like a cliche now, but he does seem to be a lot more involved in the work of this club than previous coaches, and said he wouldn't have joined without certain guarantees. I don't think every target we don't get was turned down by Conte.

Why? Why are we signing him. This does not make sense in my head.
We hace only Krasic and Pasquato to play in the wings, this considering that Conte dont like Martinez and Pepe, so getting Giaccherini is not that bad of idea... se we could have Krasic. Giaccherini, Pasquato and Perotti/Afellay/Vargas

Candreva was decent with us but nothing special. He didn't have a good season at Parma too. Now he is at Cesena, on loan from Udinese.

Don't we already own 50% of a diminutive left wing/forward, who's very technical, right-footed and likes to cut in on his strong foot... and he's better than this guy, he's younger, but instead we're going to put our faith into a player who's been in Serie A for 1 season?

This is all just crazy to me. We even have a make weight to help us in a Giovinco deal - Parma would love to have Amauri. Give them 3.5M or so, Amauri (might have to pay a little of his salary), and hell, if they're interested loan them Martinez (and pay some of his salary if necessary). Get some of those salaries off the books, get those unhappy players out of the team environment, bring us a useful, Azzurri, Juventino. The fans love him, and if the criteria Conte is looking for in a LM are this similar to Seba, then we need to try and get him back.

I know there are logistical details that aren't readily apparent, and there are a lot of egos involved (not least of which is Marotta's), but I really feel like we should try something here. Especially if we're as short on cash as we appear to be (given the names we're being linked to).

I don't see Giaccherini as an upgrade from Pasquato. We should be realistic and if Giaccherini comes here he won't be a sub for a better player, but a starter.

I wish to see Affelay here, with Pasquato backing him up. Pepe to back up Krasic, unless we can find a better bech RW.
