He is coming, he said what he said and is now covering his ass IMO.
Quite possibly. It's still weird he was really glad with Juve's interest a few months back and now says something like that though. If he didn't want to come, he wouldn't... so it's weird he would say that and then decide to join anyway. Ah well, I don't know what to believe anymore.

Someone dutch go on his twitter what is he saying?
Some of his latest tweets translated: "I only start to worry when they don't talk about me", "If people talk about you, then it apparently means your life is more important than theirs", "you can borrow my football shoes hater".

Yes you Ken :D. The old stuff Nick, nothing new.
Ah ok. :D

Right well, I've watched him from his Twente days and he was pretty damn impressive there. Always a threat, always beating his man. When he moved to HSV he started out really well if I recall correctly, but then had a terrible year under a new coach. He's been really unimpressive this campaign aswell, not getting all that much playing time again, so it's somewhat hard to judge his current situation so to speak. Last year apparently the coach had it in for him ( and a few others ) and this year it's rumoured to being due to all this transfer talk, but that could all well be bullshit.

For our national team he's always done well. He's had a few quieter games, but usually he's been a real threat and played very well. The main reason I still believe in Elia when practically nobody here does anymore, are his performances for our NT. He plays with such enthousiasm for our NT and he looks like a completely different player. I'd imagine it's not easy to perform at a WC the way he did with such low confidence / having played so little.

He's definitely a talented player and he really needs to be more effective, but he is very skillful on the ball, fast as hell and likes to cut in. He'd be a really good fit for our system, but also quite a risk, because he's a bit of an unknown when it comes to consistency. ( Apart from his time at Twente and first year at HSV, which is a while ago ) If we can really get him for low price, I'd be willing to take the risk, simply because I know what he's capable of. He could turn out to be a bit of a Quaresma, but him consistently being part of our NT and his performances there, always doing well, giving his all even if subbed on late, should say something.

In short: A new environment with big players who can put his head on straight could bring out the 'real' Elia. I'd take that risk, if the price is right. It is a risk though, as you can never know how they turn out.
