A loan doesn't surprise me. I can see the club being loath to sell a player they paid €9m for after one season.

It's a risk. Sell now for a knock down price, maybe we've been offered €6m or along those lines. Or send him on loan and hope he tears it up somewhere, a team suited to him, so we can get our money back plus potentially more.

A loan move is actually not that bad in this case. Elia is still fairly young and has talent, there is every chance that his value will increase after a season on loan.

Agreed. I think loaning him is actually a decent idea in this case. If he gets regular starts, he'll at least boost his sale value back to what we paid for him at least.

If we were to sell him straight away it would definitely lead to financial loss.

Yeah i don't understand why most people are so eager to sell him right now. He won't be worth half of what we paid for him, loaning him to Benfica for example, if he gets his playing time will at least promise us 7-8m .

Yeah, I expect to see Pepe as a starter and rightfully so. The Battle will be in the LW position and the striker role. With heavy rotataion in the Midfield Pepe, Pirlo, & Barzagli will get the most minutes.
